Dan Hurley turns down the Lakers

Wow, they would still have roster management problems though.

smart. back 2 back at uconn. thats the peak... get huge contract from the lakers.... last 2.5 years...

come back to college basketball at ANY program he wants.
Historically, the Lakers do not give coaches huge contracts. He makes $5.35M from UConn. Will he get more than that? Probably. But he won't get the $13-17M some NBA coaches are getting.

I would guess this is a leverage move to get a raise from and stay at UConn.

I agree with @Dandy that he is using this for a contract raise at UCONN. The Lakers have roster issues that won't be resolved anytime soon. AD is injury prone, Lebron is older and he still tries to be a player/coach/gm. I don't think Hurley's style will go over well with AD and Lebron.

As I understand it part of Dan Hurley's philosophy and probably success is due to the fact that he's hyper intense and demands a ton from his players, I do not see that translating well to the pros.
I'm fascinated by LA specifically because after they won this Natty, he mentioned his wife is 100% thru and thru an East coaster and expects to be near Jersey.
