Vegas says we're a 16 point favorite over the jackrabbits. 91.2% chance of winning, so it's not exactly a sure thing. Recent history has shown a 15/2 matchup is never a sure thing, but I feel good about this one.

I feel very good about making the sweet 16. ISU is very, very good. Better than many of us want to believe.

Sure, anything can happen, and that’s why the tournament is fun. But ISU is poised to make a good run

Don't really know anything about the Jackrabbits, but I recognize one of their players.

Luke Appel.

He's from Marshalltown. I covered his varsity basketball career (junior or senior year) when I was a sports reporter for the Marshalltown newspaper.

I was laid off from that position seven years ago.

They were ranked 169th on KenPom February 17th but finished the year ranked 137th after winning 8 straight games; they are playing their best basketball at the right time.
Also had an easy road in the conference tourney (8/4/7 seeds). 134th offense, 163rd defense on KenPom. Haven't played much of anyone, and certainly haven't beaten anyone of note. 0-3 in Q1 and Q2.

They shoot the ball. Defense is going to have to be on point

He played for Petersen at Kirkwood then followed him to SDSU

The Summit League was even worse than it usually is this year and they didn't exactly roll through it. Plus, they were probably going to be a 16 before all the chaos in the super low major leagues.

Feels like a game where they compete for the first 10-15 minutes and then get overwhelmed by the athleticism and it's never really a game.

One would have to guess none of them. TJ is in year three at ISU and was at UNLV for two years, so any of his recruits would have to be on year 6 at SDSU.

Yea, about that…

Mims is from CR too. One of their guys, Charlie Easley, is likely a TJ guy too. He shoots 38% from three

I hate this matchup. Bunch of guys that will have giant chips on their shoulders

It appears they liked TJ and didn't want to lose him. Also, they were really looking forward to Grill coming.

So this feels like a game where the jackrabbits could start out shooting hot and be competitive for a half before the boys defense grinds them down in the second, like BYU or Baylor?
