Bracketology 2024

“You don’t get to choose your conference schedule” Ok we also didn’t chose DePaul who was the worst big East team we’ve ever seen. Don’t get to chose who’s in our non-con tourney. Don’t decide for Iowa to be terrible.
In fairness we went 1-2 in that tournament.

Alright, I've had a beer and am suddenly convinced we deserve a 1 seed just to spite everyone on reddit flaming our noncon record. Don't they know that's my schtick?
Its 90% ACC fans doing that. They still haven't gotten over the fact they havent been the best conference for some time now, and fully bought into the "Big 12 gamed the NET" conspiracy theory.

“You don’t get to choose your conference schedule”. We didn’t get to choose DePaul who was the worst big East team we’ve ever seen. We don’t get to chose who we play the in non con tourneys. We don’t decide that iowas gonna be terrible this year

And ISU doesn't decide for VA Tech and ATM to not turn out to be that good.

In bracket matrix, ISU is #1 seed in 7 brackets, #2 seed in 85 brackets, so looks like it will be a #2 seed. They would be the top #2 seed (#5 overall), so if possible hopefully paired with the lowest #1 seed (#4 overall) so it really wouldn't matter if you are #4 or #5.
8 of the top 10 rated bracketologists have not submitted their final selection.

Gonzaga has been getting rewarded for having a ******* conference schedule every season, why is the inversion so triggering to some of these guys? Calm the **** down Clark.
The Zags have literally have been able to just go through the motions for two months and have been a 1 seed. So dumb.

It's still unreal that ISU is in this position. What an incredible job by this team.
I was trying to explain this to my wife.

I've literally never even seriously considered what it would be like to actually be a #1 in my entire lifetime as a Cyclone fan. Seemed too far-fetched to even play around with, really.

Unbelievable to even be in the conversation this close to selection.

Non con games getting factored in twice is just maddening. “Professionals” doubling down on non con SOS is laughable, especially when you factor in total body of work.

And, as we've detailed on here multiple times, they clearly don't know what NCSOS really ends up factoring.

Like, why do we care if a team's terrible games are Net200 or net300? They're basically exhibitions for tournament-level teams. But that's 2/3 of the NCSOS measurement, and people like Kellogg are rarely forced to defend this metric.

The non-conference stuff is blown out of proportion. Sometimes you think you schedule well and then once the season actually plays out some teams aren't good.

Take Oklahoma for example, in November it looks like they had scheduled extremely difficult. Iowa and Providence have come off multiple NCAA tournaments in row. Arkansas was projected to compete with Tennessee for the SEC title, and USC was suppose to be a contender in the Pac-12.

All of those teams ended up being pretty bad except for North Carolina.

the fans mad about the potential of Iowa state getting no. 1 seed the most I’ve seen are from Kansas and Texas.
