With their race pace and tyre deg looking way better, it was good to see Ferrari right there in the pole battle. Charles Q2 lap was the fastest of the day, botched the 3rd sector on his Q3 lap but clearly they still have good 1 lap pace. Russell also impressive.
Max still going to be out in front a good bit, but I think this is at least encouraging signs that it may be closer than last year.

Honestly Haas was pretty good in a lot of qualifying last year. Guess we will see race pace. I feel bad for PIerre. Then I remember his girlfriend and her looks and quit feeling bad for him
I don’t find that shocking at all since Yuki is the better driver. I just don’t get this continued obsession with elevating DR and if we’re being real honest Liam Lawson showed a lot more long term promise.
This’ll be another boring constructor and drivers race this year. That’s the cool thing about F1; there’s still plenty to pay attention too. Mercedes and McLaren might be a good battle.
Also, have we considered Hamilton is maybe just a second tier driver now and there’s a chance Ferrari is getting a downgrade in driver even if it’s a net positive?

If Max don't crash on a start, there is a chance he wins 20 plus races this year
It should. Carlos only has to worry about proving himself as a driver for a new team
I think it would be funny if Sainz beats Leclerc this season and Russell beat Hamilton. It would be the most Ferrari thing ever to have the two slowest driver's out of the four.
Does F1 have a Max problem. Going to be a borish season if he continues to be this dominant.
