Since we’re reviving the thread, went to Oak Park last month. Phenomenal. Very pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Maybe the best steak I’ve ever had. Everything was amazing.

Oak Park. HMmmm. Sounds suspiciously familiar, are you sure this isn't in Ames?Since we’re reviving the thread, went to Oak Park last month. Phenomenal. Very pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Maybe the best steak I’ve ever had. Everything was amazing.
“This is a chef-driven steakhouse. This is not a chain steakhouse. It’s the the polar opposite of that. The flavors are very bold.”
i assume all future WeWill and Cyclone Fanatic events will be held hereSaw this restaurant will be opening in WDM, in Albaugh's Tower on 60th street, north of Mills Civic

I loved this quote. Direct shot at the new steakhouse on Jordan Creek lol
First thing I thought of when I heard the name mentioned. Can confirm it is not Hickory Park. I could tell when the food tasted good.Oak Park. HMmmm. Sounds suspiciously familiar, are you sure this isn't in Ames?
Last time i was at Latin King i found it extremely disappointing.Latin King is your classic Italian American restaurant. Highly recommend NY Strip, Chicken Spiedini, and pasta options.
Same. Latin King has not been a great experience the last couple times we've gone.Last time i was at Latin King i found it extremely disappointing.
Would rather go to Cosi Cucina or Christopher's

Odd, was there 2 weeks ago and everyone loved it.Same. Latin King has not been a great experience the last couple times we've gone.
I spent several weeks in Korea and Korean BBQ was by far the easiest on my western palate. So I assume they had the grill at the table and you grill it yourself given your son was the grill master. Was it an electric grill, or did they actually light charcoal at the table? I experienced both in Korea, but I always wondered if charcoal at the the table would actually fly in America for safety reasons.Nice thread bump!
DZO Korean BBQ is a fun option, if you want something different. We took the family a couple weeks ago and my 9 year old son absolutely loved it. He proclaimed himself the grill master and kept himself busy managing the cooking. Food was good. We ordered a sampling of a bunch of different meats but all agreed that the bulgogi was far and away the best offering.
Nice, I can smell the bacon wrapped tater tots from here.my top 5 DSM restaurants

I believe that it's a gas grill at this restaurant, but don't hold me to that.I spent several weeks in Korea and Korean BBQ was by far the easiest on my western palate. I loved bulgogi, but also really enjoyed the pork belly (samgyeopsal). I'll have to give this place a try.
