There are planes landing in Des Moines today so its not that crazy.

Bad day to be an Allegiant passanger though. All their flights seem to be grounded today in DSM.

There have been more cancellations than non cancellations today. I just took a look and only one departure scheduled from now until 8:30. And 3 arrivals since 12. Quite a few scheduled. But lots of cancelled.

As the plow goes by again. I have always thought it would be a semi interesting job for an hour or two.

Back in my newspaper days, I went on a ride along with the snow removal department one overnight for a story. It was very interesting and I definitely have appreciation for what they deal with and do.

Had to be at work (Cedar Falls area) this morning at 7 but ended up leaving shortly before noon to get home for the weekend. Usually about a 25 minute drive and today both trips took about 40 mins. Honestly the drive on Tuesday seemed way worse but from the sounds of it later on in the day will make Tuesday seem like a piece of cake

Father-in-Law did it for years up in rural Wisconsin.... an hour or two is about right. My wife has mentioned multiple times about the delayed Christmases/Thanksgivings, always worrying about him, and the overall awfulness of it.

Honestly it’s amazing how fast road crews can get roads clear. We get frustrated if they aren’t clear within a couple of hours but it takes quite the operation to get them cleared in a day.

Made it home. New 30 between Ames and Nevada was pretty good in right lane but blowing snow made it go from plenty visibility to nothing. Roads in town of Nevada are total crap. Work at a restaurant and couldn't believe the amount of people we did have. 1 is a retired guy who is a Friday regular. If you don't have a good reason to be out in there is no reason you should be out and about.

Right but OSU is taking a charter. The charter plane must be at the Okie airport since they were still planning on leaving this afternoon.

Got a daughter heading back to western Iowa for school Monday. (as I'm guessing lots of students) Hoping the interstate is able to be dry/clear even with the severely cold weather inbound.

Had to take my wife to the ER, but had to get the driveway cleared. Thankfully we only live about 1.5 miles from Mary Greeley. Main roads decent, just piles they left from when they turned around.

Son in Omaha got stuck in a roundabout. Seems that those are a magnet to get stuck in during a snowstorm.

Neighbor kid out snowblowing for 3rd time today. I think the dad has her on a timer or something. He snowblows when there's a heavy frost, I swear to God.

Same thing with mowing the lawn 2-3x a week.

Kid probably get paid allowance based on work done, not work needed.
