Anyone see the Horrible Richard Gere movie, "Unfaithful?" God awful ending. 2 hours of my life I will never get back. Major letdown.

Back to the Future 2. I was so pumped to see it in the theaters because I absolutely loved the original. It was such a disappointment and then, they had the audacity to end the movie on a cliffhanger. Needless to say, I did not spend money to see the 3rd installment in the theaters. There have been worse movies made than BTTF2, but I count it as the worst because the movie didn't even remotely meet my expectations. They wasted the talents of some pretty amazing actors & were unable to retain Crispin Glover and the girl who played Jennifer Parker.
There was actually an interview and this is an accurate quote. I think a lot if those folks will take the work when they can.
The Number 23 was a good concept ruined by complete absurdity. I think I laughed a few times in the theater and it's not a comedy at all.
Comic/superhero films don't have to be aggressively stupid.

Most comic movies also don't have pasty-white, blue-eyed Scottish dudes yelling "FREEDOM!" (as I said, the Spartans were a horrifically oppressive master/slave society, and Spartans were Greeks, which meant they were Mediterranean and ethnically not all that different from the polyglot Persian Empire that probably would have mostly drawn troops from the Mediterranean region to invade Greece) slaughtering orc hordes. There comes a time in a young man's life when such symbolism is too hard to miss.
Donald Sutherland blew chow in that as well. Morgan Freeman and Cuba Gooding are what saved that from being a late late late show at a drive in theatre.
Yes. Agreed. But looking at Diane Lane for 2 hours during that movie redeems it a bit in my eyes. Sorry. I am a horrible person.
I can't get over the ham-fisted preachiness. I guess I should simply see that as comedy too.
It's a comic book movie, nerd.
Armageddon is over-the-top, loud and silly but I had fun watching it (I didn't want to or need to use my brain once for the entire movie).
"Don't Want to Miss a Thing" is right up there with "Don't You Forget About Me" for songs that perfectly define a movie (or however it's described in Pitch Perfect).
Brother in law thought this would be a good movie to bring for everyone to watch during Thanksgiving or Christmas one year. Imagine watching a character boning his girlfriend on a street in front of an audience while sitting on the couch next to your mother in law.
I remember liking "The Ref," saw it only once, not long after release. It's possible I wouldn't like it as much now, but that's only a hunch.

Yep. Same reason you'll see a lot of A-list actors who won't do ad campaigns here to protect their image and "integrity", but do ads in Asia getting nice fat paychecks for ads most Americans never see.
I agree - Armageddon was a simple, no-brain needed thriller that fit the specific time period it was made in. It absolutely was over the top and beyond impractical, but I think almost all action or thriller movies of that time period were such.
I could see why people would’ve liked it at release in the mid 90s. Spacey and Dennis Leary were obviously big names. It matched the “I’m trying to hard on dialogue” vibe many 90s movies had that just doesn’t age well in comparison to movies before and after that timeframe.
Some of these movies are so bad they are good. Like they meant to be good, but were aweful, but were so aweful it made them accidentally a comedy film. Jason Voorhees in space, awful movie but funny as hell also.
Jaws 4 fits this mold
Also Showgirls was terribly acted and a stupid plot. However, when I was 20 years old, u could sign me up for any movie that gets the girls from saved by the bell naked and I’m down. Throw in a lesbian scene and I ranked that movie up there with Raiders of the lost arch as a perfectly made movie.
