Yup. Toss the body in the trailer, burn the clothes somewhere else, no evidence.
Dogs smelled his trail to the gravel road/land and the trail disappears. I meant the body was dumped with hogs somewhere. Could be in the trailer, could be anywhere.

Wait. I was told there isn't crime in rural Iowa.

I lost a NW Iowa relative a few months ago to a brutal murder, happened in rural OK but those involved were all from NW Iowa. It was a missing person story like this for a month before it was a murder story.

Violent crime is everywhere, most just can't understand basic %s or the idea of per capita.

Another important thing is to only look at stats for reported violent crime and ignore fatal incidents and murder data. Murder rates are often just an evaluation of how good or lacking the trauma centers are in various areas and neighborhoods, same thing goes for convictions and the criminal justice system in different areas. Reported violent crime is the best data we have and unfortunately it's sometimes very hard data to get compared to deaths, murders, convictions, etc.

Never thought of that before but makes a lot of sense.

Quickest and easiest way to get rid of a body, per a professor of mine at ISU
The professor was feeding you a line.

I've owned hogs of every size and age and while they are capable of destroying a carcass of another animal, they do not do so in a way that would be considered complete. And it isn't fast, either.

Really? Well, Montezuma is kind of Central Iowa I guess. They recently put that giant warehouse outside of Grinnell. Maybe 5-10 years ago.
You could easily drive by that place and not pay much attention to it if you don't know what Brownells is. It's kind of a weird looking building. It looks more like corporate offices then retail IMO.

Edit: Deleted photo because it started going down the political rabbit hole

The attached image is a FB post from a friend of a friend from Sunday - these types of things float around on social media pretty frequently and it's impossible to know if they're true. I don't directly know the person who posted, but I have talked to a couple people that do know him and they have confirmed the story to be accurate. Keep in mind, this is the same general vicinity a few days after the trucker went missing.

There is also a bank that went under in Sac City a few weeks ago for making bad loans in the trucking industry. I've heard that one of the bankers there committed suicide recently. A LOT of weird things happening in a small area.

sigh... that man who unalived himself was a girl below me in high school's husband...

Obviously this is pretty far-fetched but if it did happen wouldn't there be some blood inside the trailer and on the pigs? And could they get the guys DNA from the pig stomachs?
That blood would be so mixed with **** that it would be hard to even decipher.

But I guess you could analyze all the stomach contents of all the pigs on that trailer. Seems almost impossibly tedious for the kind of resources the state and county would have.

Someone posted the idea of taking him to a hog barn at another location. That would be harder to trace.

you think a load of feeder pigs could literally destroy an entire body in less than 24 hours?
Considering they eat 5-6 pounds a day, and there is usually at least 25-30/load, yes in 24 hours or less its extremely possible

There's some large bones in the human body (skull and femur being two) that would be tough to get broken down small enough to fit through slats. If he was in a confinement, they would find him.

Now if they tossed him into the pit, that would be a different story.

You sound like someone who listened to Malcolm Gladwell's gun control podcast mini-series. If not, you'd probably enjoy it.

Keep in mind pits are typically empty this time of year. I do imagine that was checked when the site was searched on the Saturday after he disappeared. But moving to another site would be possible.

Perhaps there is a band of roving hot nymphos that is plying on the men of Iowa. These two poor souls are now in the clutches of diabolical women doing unspeakable acts to them, over and over.
Probably vampires.
