*** Official Lindenwood vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Thanks, Rulzzz!

You are still the most reliable man in my life.

I was confused when I saw Lindenwood. It seemed like a school who might be playing Faber College, and wondered if we were playing another exhibition somehow :p

Looking for everyone to make it on the floor and BRE to spoil someone’s day by making a free throw.

Go Cyclones!

whenever Big Rob does a flex during a game, I like to think he is flexing on ZRF.

Hah! As long as he remembers to flex when he tries a labored post move that results in a travel/TO, loses a rebound from making himself small, botches a perfect entry pass, or gets torched on switch isolations (ala Mizzou) I'm cool with .

You're right.

It's clear you're at practice and watch game film with the coaches and know why different decisions get made.

My guess is Omaha will have a big game tonight.

Based off the the first game I'd like to see a little more offensive flow and (more importantly) have him stay out of foul trouble. As long as he shows improvement it's a win.

I think Biliew, Watson, Ward, C. Jones, and King hold the cards to how good we will be. We know what Tamin is (minus his shot...which I think will be improved), we know what R Jones is, and I'm pretty sure I know what MomC and Gilbert will be for us this year. You might be able to take King off that list as long as he stays out of foul trouble. Those other 4 guys will be the difference in us (potentially) being a legit conference contender or a good team that struggles to be great (but better than the last two years). In particular Biliew, Watson and Ward potentially have the highest impact differences from where their game was last year/now and where it could be. If they get there this team will be awesome.

First off I've never pretended to know anything about what goes on in practice. But, to your point, if the coach's are making decisions based off of practice versus an ample sample size for a veteran player, that's a mistake. That sounds like high school favoritism where the coach's (sometimes) play favorites, be it for political or sentimental reasons. You don't play guys JUST because they play hard they need to be better than your available options for the given minutes. The latter has always been my gripe on Jones and there is pretty good data to back that up.

Jones showed some damn good touch around the rim on Monday. If he can continue that without bricking layups, I'm fine with him getting all the minutes he wants.

to be fair, here, it was Green Bay.

there is a difference in having touch around the rim vs. one of the worst Division I school and have touch around the rim against KU.

Lindenwood coming off an 84-52 road loss to Fred's Huskers Monday night. vegasinsider.com ISU -33.5. No Mercy!
Be nice if both Nebraska and ISU would scrap the Lindenwood game on their schedules and play one another instead. I predict a hammering tonight.

This.

Go back and look at last year's stats. Almost all of his "better" games came in non-con, before the conference slate. But if you look at the start of conference (including the MIzzou game) through the dreadful Pitt debacle he was 42-101 from the floor. Shooting less than 42 percent as a big man, when all of your shots come close the the rim is ******* atrocious. In that span he scored in double figures twice.

I will say I thought he played more "under control" the last 5 or 6 games of the season. His baby hook isn't bad when he's quick with it (get's the ball and is decisive), but the problem for most of the season was he constantly forced the issues, held the ball too long, and would try pivoting. Once BRE falls into that trap it's turnover city (travels and steals). That version of Rob is a terrible player to have on the floor.
