I think Hardman knows hes not a top end WR at this point. Top end WRs dont sign $4m deals.

Certainly hes a gadget guy. But KC doesn't have that guy on the roster currently. Skyy has done okay with the jet sweep type role, but Mecole had the top end speed to take a 50+ yard TD - something no one on this roster has been able to do.
I say let’s get Hardman back. I’d rather see him running the deep routes than MVS, who is just not very good.

Looks like we could pick him up for a song, so I would be inclined to like this move. Send Washington to the practice squad?

You're not going to be able to put together a package of picks to move that far without giving up multiple 1sts down the line. Your example of Maxx Crosby was drafted in the 4th round. For a team like the Chiefs where you're going to pay the QB top dollar, you got to keep as many draft picks as possible to keep roster costs down.
That is why I am pushing for the Chiefs to go all in on this draft, you said it yourself the dollars are not there, but if we trade most of the picks this year and next, to get the right couple guys it would be worth it and save money.
Highest rated WR in the draft, go to that team an offer them all your picks in this draft to move up to that spot to get him. Then do the exact same thing for the highest rated rush end, all the picks in the 2025 draft. Give up 14/15 players to pick two game changing players at a position of need. As others have stated the roster is young right now, and this saves money to resign our current players.

Its crazy, but get us the players we need the most.

You just can't keep a quality roster getting rid of that many picks for 2 years. You will have better luck drafting 7 players every year for a game changer, than 1 person a year. Plus that draft math will not work for anyone. Top 5 draft teams will want 3+ 1st round picks to move that far up from where the Chiefs normally pick.

Chiefs have proven to be great at finding key players in the later rounds. By all means make a trade or two, but I doubt we trade most of our picks away. I’m

Williams will be the first pick in this draft, so you have to go to teams that already have their QB for the future, Carolina, Chicago, and Houston, are all teams that drafted a QB last year, and still are horrible. Guess what they are going to be bad next year too. Why, not enough quality players, you go to those teams and few others, that do not need a QB, and say "do you want to rebuild next year with your 7/8 picks, or would you be better off doubling that number to 13/14 picks?"

The Chiefs are the 3rd youngest roster in the league, they are young at LB, and the defensive backfield, we have two young players on the D line. The O line is also young, as well has the RB's and WR's. We need quality not good players but great ones. We are going to pick in the last 3/4 picks in the draft, that player will not be there. You either use the capital you have, draft picks, or hope that you can find another diamond in the rough like we did Pacheco.

Now is the time for the Chiefs to be bold, and go out and get two great players, a WR and a rush end. If saves money that we can then give to our existing players to keep, and prolongs the window to Super Bowls.

You do not have to give up 3 1st round picks to move up to the top 5 in the draft, especially true when you are not drafting a Quarterback.

I understand the logic, but I think the better route to dynasty-type success is to have really, really good people evaluating talent to maximize the effectiveness of the draft picks. I believe there are always treasures there that are overlooked because they play for smaller schools or schools that don't allow them to showcase their talent. If you're going to trade, why not trade for an established player?

Using the current standings and available picks, Chiefs have a total of draft capital of 1070 for 2024 using the Draft Value sheet. If they traded all the picks, the could only move up to pick 15.

https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp?RequestTeam=KC

Assuming chiefs will finish around #26 the next 3 years, if they traded their 1st round pick for 3 years the highest they could get is #3. All those trades, the one furthest down is going 15 to 1. It took 2 first rounders and 2 2nd rounders.

Not to mention the latest trade with SF and Miami was 3 first round pick and that was moving up 11 spots. The Chiefs cannot move from late 20s to top 10 or 5 without multiple first rounds picks.

The 49ers trade was completely off the wall, is an outlier, but they thought they were getting a franchise QB and would be set at the position for the next decade or more. Every team in the league would make that trade today if you were getting Mahomes. The Chiefs are not picking a franchise changing QB here, they already have that, so the price is going to cheaper.

Teams like the Bears and Cardinals that have multiple picks and already have their QB for the future would be the teams to talk too. The Chiefs have nothing to lose by talking, the Bears will get a huge haul in this draft from someone for Williams. They might be willing to trade out of that spot and switch slots in the draft knowing they already have 3 choice

Because trading for a really good established player cost money and cap space and the Chiefs have neither. The only way to get one of those players is trading up or finding a later round gem.

Man these Denver media don't give the Broncos ANY shot. I expect a KC win but the prediction of the amount of points they think KC is gonna score is asinine. SIXTY THREE?!

The guys at MHR are just done with the Broncos. Old owners, new owner. Old coach, new coach. It's all the same garbage. Had Peyton Manning not bailed out Elway by coming there, the Broncos would be closing in on close to 20 seasons of futility. And I am here for every second of it.

I guess I didn't realize just how bad the Broncos are this year. Horrible defense doesn't bode well against the Chiefs in Arrowhead.

Sounds like the Broncos are soon to be sellers. Preference for additions to the Chiefs? This would be my order.

(1) Jerry Jeudy
(2) Frank Clark
(3) Courtland Sutton
(4) Mecole Hardman (Jets)

I might like Sutton a little better, but he is 4 years older than Jeudy.
