Lol I said don’t be mad.
Stop spamming the World Champion thread with B.S. We already had to put Joe Burrow and Jalen Hurt's fans in their place last year. Try winning a big game first. Try winning a few Super Bowls and going to 5 straight NFC Championship's, getting a few MVP's, and a few Super Bowl MVP's and we'll talk.

No that's last year. You're saying that because Mahomes's team won the Superbowl last year and because he was voted the MVP last year, he's the league's best QB this year. Ask any player in the NFL and they'll tell you that right now last year doesn't mean squat.
I can bet you not only players on the 49ers care about last year but the team in Philly does too. One player for certain would be Jason Kelce who probably would have retired had they not lost the Super Bowl so that's laughable to say not 1 player thinks last year doesn't mean squat. It's the reason some may still be playing another season or stayed with their team.

Mahomes has been near the top of the MVP voting 6 years in a row. JFC his body of work leaves no doubt he is the best QB in the game. The first time he has a human-like game the Chiefs haters blow their load. This season reminds me of last year to be honest. We're 4-1 and people are calling it a down year.

Yeah, I mean no one here is rooting against Purdy hell I love watching him and am thrilled about the success he's had. But to make an argument based on a small sample of stats with 2 guys in complete different phases of their career right now is just rediculous. There isn't a GM in the league that would take Purdy over Mahomes if you gave them a choice without any financial implications tied to them. Mahomes is the proven winner with more talent and gun to his head even John Lynch would have him over Purdy if he had to make a choice.

Maybe a good comparison for this is Kurt Warner. Lot of similarities as both were thrust into the starters role due to an injury and both were guys no one knew much about and didn't have high expectations for. Warner had Vermeil and the greatest show on turf where he was the perfect QB at the time for that talented roster and put up monster stats. Very similar situation Purdy is in right now in SF and he has the potential to be in the MVP conversation with a team that could win the Super Bowl. Warner went on to have a Hall Of Fame career but doubt you are going to find many guys that will say he was better than some of the other great QBs of his era like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady for instance.

Mahomes is certainly one of the best QB’s, not only today but a certain first ballot hall of fame.

Is he the best quarterback in the league right now? I don’t know. While his passing rating is still quite high (96.0), it is his lowest rating since his rookie year. That’s good for 11th place this year. His QBR is 4th this year. Statistically speaking, Purdy is the best QB so far this year as he leads in both categories

The only thing that matters is winning championships. He has better numbers than any QB in the league through 6 games. He hasn't won anything yet. The Chiefs aren't 4-1 if Brock Purdy is their QB. They are 2-3 or 1-4. Mahomes is asked to carry his team, Purdy is asked to manage games. And to his credit he is efficient. He reminds me of Alex Smith. Don't look now but Russ Wilson is 4th in the league in passing efficiency. He isn't the 4th best qb in the NFL.

I prefer to live in the present.

Look, both guys are great QB's. I just shake my head at all the doubters who insist Brock doesn't belong in the same conversation as the other greats. I have to remind myself that some people are slower to pick up on the obvious, but it's fun watching them when they finally do.
The present? Cmon man, Mahomes won the Super Bowl 6 games ago. No exactly ancient history.

Something has been missing from the offense this entire year, the young receivers have yet to step forward, and we are getting a lot of dropped passes. This was supposed to be the year that Toney really took off and showed everyone just how good he could be, well through 5 games we are still waiting.

I told my youngest son the other day, that what the Chiefs need to do in the 24 draft is trade every pick it takes to grab the best WR and edge rusher that is on the board. Even if that means dealing on the 25 draft picks to do so.
The Chiefs are built to win now, and win big, but to continue to do so means getting quality people for those two positions, the rest of the team is young, and we can afford to throw the dice and get two great players for a season or two.
They’ve drafted DE in first round for two straight years.

The Chiefs are built to win for 7-10 years. Not just now. Ton of young talent and a QB.

Draft to replace Kelce via a stud WR or TE. Stop taking the 10th WR on the board. Defense is fine. Maybe a tackle and let Jones walk.

That's very true, but I keep saying that I'm talking about the current season.

As I've said, Mahomes is a great QB. There's no doubt. But when we're talking about which QB is playing the best THIS season, I get irritated at folks who say Purdy doesn't even deserve to be compared with Mahomes, especially when Purdy is playing above Mahomes when it comes to every meaningful QB statistic.

Neither the kid from KSU this year or our 2nd draft pick last year is a difference maker so far on the field, until we find someone that can rush off the edge and pressure the QB this defense cannot be great. Look at Cosby last night for the Raiders, guy was all over the place, that is the type of player we need at end to team with Jones.

To get those types of players the Chiefs are going to have to move up into the top 5 to 10 picks, you yourself said they are young, now is the window to trade those draft picks to go out and get a rush end and a WR.

That's pretty telling and there are probably a few more to add to the list that are either buried on someone's bench or not on a team right now.
Wouldn’t mind taking back if mutual interest but I’m not really sure what WR you cut.

Hardman talks like he thinks he's a top end WR but he's really no more than a gadget play guy you put in for a few plays a game. He was inconsistent in KC and had some issues with drops. Just got done watching the video of Mahomes' first 200 TD's and names like Robinson and Hardman showed up plenty in there. Even with the way Andy's offense runs, you'd still think that those guys would be talented enough to ball elsewhere, but nope.

You're not going to be able to put together a package of picks to move that far without giving up multiple 1sts down the line. Your example of Maxx Crosby was drafted in the 4th round. For a team like the Chiefs where you're going to pay the QB top dollar, you got to keep as many draft picks as possible to keep roster costs down.

I would love to see them draft John Alt’s (OT) son next spring. Not sure if the draft boards predict he’ll be available at the bottom of RD 1 or not.

I think Hardman knows hes not a top end WR at this point. Top end WRs dont sign $4m deals.

Certainly hes a gadget guy. But KC doesn't have that guy on the roster currently. Skyy has done okay with the jet sweep type role, but Mecole had the top end speed to take a 50+ yard TD - something no one on this roster has been able to do.
