I think if kelm and ejim both committed then HB would go his separate way, as i dont see him as the kind of guy who would take somebody's spot on the team, especially when he has oppurtunities else where
well he will play no matter where he goes and under any scenario. I dont think HB would feel too good about getting somebody forced out of a big 12 program, an opputtunity of a life time.
Who he is playing with may factor in, but not who he is beating out for playing time. HB decision is going to come down to one of two things: hometown hero or glamour of a big program.
he wont be taking away their scholly like he would under the scenario presented earlier.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I kinda doubt you follow the Duke/UNC scholly count as closely as you do ISU.
I'd practically guarantee you that Duke and UNC have offered more schollys in 2010 than they have spots open, and if they have a full load and Barnes says 'yes' to them, they'll make room.

I don't know how this can be made any clearer: If HB comes to ISU, there WILL be room for him.

Do you have an idea on what the chances are that Brackins will be around next year? And is there any truth to the rumor that he will not be playing for free next year even if he has to go to Europe or the D-league. I can't argue if he can get on an NBA roster, but the D-league and Europe will be around in 2 years no matter what.

No kidding. In the last 10 years, there has probably been at least one player each year that leaves and it is a surprise to most of the fans.
In general, I don't like running players off. But, in general, we are not in a war to win a player against the entire country. And because I think there is a chance that once Harrison finishes his cross country tour of basketball arenas, he will decide that Iowa State is the place for him, we will need to be prepared to make room for him. If we are going to compete against the big boys for him, we have to be prepared to act like the big boys. I don't think Coach Kihatehimsomuch or Roy would worry too much about clearing out a spot for him.
Duke never uses all of their scholarships. So your guarantee is wrong. UNC has one open scholly for 2010 and it is being saved for Barnes. If Barnes goes elsewhere, they are going after Roscoe Smith
Oregon State, Iowa and Marquette don't seem like "MVC teams" to me.

Maybe what you're missing is that at close to 6'10", the kid plays defensive end for his high school football team. Somewhere in here, that should start to sound a little like Justin Hamilton to you. And by the time Kelm steps onto campus, our bigs will likely consist solely of Hamilton, L.A. Pomlee, and classmate Jordan Dykstra. We need another player. Kansas has had duos like this sign, work in the weight room, and play well together, so I'm sure that it could work for us.

What makes you think that someone wouldn't be transferring out by then anyway? Happens all the time. No need to "take" someone's scholarship.
