THIS. Yes, Iowa State is not an easy place to coach at, but we are in a power conference, have great facilities and excellent fan support. That's what players and coaches long for.

K-State and Kansas are living proof you can be located in a state without a lot of local talent and still succeed.
There's about as many people in Kansas City as there are in Iowa.

Where do they recruit out of?
KC, Wichita, STL, and probably some Texas kids as well.

I guess I don't understand where you're coming from. It's not like Kansas and K-State are just loaded with talent. They simply have better coaching at this point. You can't tell me our players wouldn't succeed under Leipold or Klieman.

I'm not coming from anywhere. I'm just asking where those school recruit from.

They may as well be. KC is a KU town by far. There are also a ton of K-State grads there. Its closer to those schools than Columbia by a long shot.
KU isn't far from KC. But KSU and Mizzou are about the same, around a 2 hour drive to either one.

Was there even hype this year, though? It felt like the program was barely mentioning the upcoming season.

There was definitely 'hype' in certain areas at least in terms of what the staff feed the 'insiders'.

I don't blame people like Chris for that because they're just relaying what they hear, but it drives you to the conclusion that those staff that have been hilariously wrong a times either A) they're overhyping to deceive for some reason or B) they're really bad at evaluating the talent they have.

It's a KU town. Always has been. St. Louis is way more of a Mizzou town than KC. I lived in KC/Northwest Missouri for a long time. More KU fans than anything else. Just like Omaha is an NU town, not because it's in Nebraska but because of its proximity Lincoln. If ISU was in Council Bluffs we would own Omaha.

This post comes out every time when change is discussed. I’m sure you were here posting the same exact thing when Rhoads was on the hot seat.
replace CMC with Prohm or CPR and there's no difference in the meaning

Prohm always loved point guards, so maybe he could find us a QB. Campbe;ll was building up Becht having a great game when he threw two interceptions and fumbled the ball three times. The Okies will eat him up and spit him out—1-11 and kissing the basement floor.

We're back to being the team everyone schedules on Homecoming.
