Damn. I was hoping for a children's hospital. Wouldn't a Cyclone Wave be awesome tradition

We stole their jersey color, might as well steal that too.Damn. I was hoping for a children's hospital. Wouldn't a Cyclone Wave be awesome tradition![]()
Yeah I don't think any fan can logically argue against these points, or similarly raised points. Having the clinic there is "good" for many, many reasons. I think most will 'get' that.A clinic also bring employees and patients year round that could spend at other businesses in the development. Sound like it will also provide services, equipment to student athletes.
If you were not paying attention, when the project was first announced they talked of a medical facility nearest to Jack Trice to support all the athletes at the University! So this is no surprise and has been planned from the beginning! Will provide a huge financial anchor for the entire project. The condominiums planned are not "entertainment" either, but will further stabilize the finances.Great, if we can just get a couple of dentists, a law firm or two, a tile shop and a couple mattress stores, this will be perfect. I thought this was going to be an entertainment district? Is this just going to be another run of the mill strip mall?
You do know that ISUs original colors were gold, silver, and black, right? They actually took our colors. We stole their jersey color, might as well steal that too.
Maybe it won't take up a lot of real estate. They can build a tower type facility and needed parking doubles up as game day parking.Yeah I don't think any fan can logically argue against these points, or similarly raised points. Having it take up a giant chunk of the prime "entertainment district" strip? That, for me as a fan, is not at all exciting, or something I would recommend the Athletic Department 'celebrate' as their 1st tenant. Like, it's fine. It makes logical sense. But... there was really no other way to accommodate it or.. put it somewhere else in the lot? The biggest building in a prime corner spot, facing the football stadium, of our 'entertainment district' really needed to be a clinic?
It was a ******* joke, lighten up Francis. If you were not paying attention, when the project was first announced they talked of a medical facility nearest to Jack Trice to support all the athletes at the University! Or urgent care for the longer than 4 hour pre-game, hype enduced erections. Also free pregame nut cups for the first 50 fans. Post game ice packs if you missed out on the cups.
We should plant corn on the roof of the building and create a tradition around ACTUALLY helping farmers.Damn. I was hoping for a children's hospital. Wouldn't a Cyclone Wave be awesome tradition![]()
Good idea. Sell sweet corn- at $1.50/ear our Athletic Department will be rolling in the cash.We should plant corn on the roof of the building and create a tradition around ACTUALLY helping farmers.
Who in their right minds is paying $18/dozen for corn!?Good idea. Sell sweet corn- at $1.50/ear our Athletic Department will be rolling in the cash.
Or we could go for a field of dreams vibe. Plant some corn between building and stadium and have Player Walk through a field of corn!!! The national media will love it. It will put the Iowa Wave to shame.
Plus it can double up as corn maze for the kids. Mom &dad can throw kids in there 5 hours before game and then mom/dad can go get their groove on- maybe even at a tailgate.
Not only that, you can use it to create a We Will special alcohol for sale in the SEZ.Good idea. Sell sweet corn- at $1.50/ear our Athletic Department will be rolling in the cash.

Shush it, we're not bringing logic into a conversation about sports revenue.Who in there right minds is paying $18/dozen for corn!?
Is it ISU branded? I suppose if so you could probably charge $50/dozen.Shush it, we're not bringing logic into a conversation about sports revenue.
Absolutely - Clone Corn. You could even make it a variety of some of those exotic Indian varieties with cardinal and gold kernals. Is it ISU branded? I suppose if so you could probably charge $50/dozen.
Can't have a corn field taking away all of our brand new head-in parking spaces.Good idea. Sell sweet corn- at $1.50/ear our Athletic Department will be rolling in the cash.

Everyone knows the bar/restaurant industry is tough and has a lot of turnover. No clue how some are complaining about Med Clinic and space... Lord.
Did everyone expect there to be 100 bars there?
You need a investor and business that will be a permanent anchor tenant.
Med clinic is just that.
It also will draw alot of people to the location on a daily basis.
There will likely be some nice sports bar/pub or two...It won't be all industrial.
