The thing w/ CMC is that he’s a team first coach. Winning games is through game control and managing risk in all phases of the game. Risk control is big in his approach. Some programs get stud play makers and, on offense, you can let them fly with a serviceable QB. ISU isn’t that fortunate so managing risk makes more sense. It makes sense as a strategy considering the overall talent he can get, but it must be incredibly tough in practice when the players want to make plays.

Expecting him to just let Brecht start throwing deep balls in the second half to bury UNI is just missing his whole approach as a coach. CMC is stubborn and has a vision for what could work with ISU’s resources, making that happen is what separates the best coaches from the good coaches. He’s not a let-it-fly type - expecting or wanting him to be is missing the point.
“Brecht”? I can’t see how this could be an autocorrect issue.

Becht.

Three touchdown win, good special teams, resting a lot of starters in the heat the end of the game. Fan-freaking-tastic.

Looking very iffy on the o-line, not really running it great, very inconsistent on offense.

So plenty of both optimism and pesismism to throw on the fire and keep us all wound up all week.

Time to freak tf out everybody! Lets get weird!

As Pam from "ARCHER" loves to say, "holy s***snacks!!" Things have gone absolutely ugly as hell for No. Iowa. Glad you guys are having a helluva home kickoff for the season. Sort of doing to them what Utes/Smithson did to y'all way back when :eek::explode:
Dude, **** you

Offense missed some big throws down field with an open receiver that could have been 6. Connect on those and this entire conversation is completely different. I'm encouraged overall for the teams performance today. Defense and kicking game looked great.

I was really happy with what we saw from Becht today. We don’t need him to throw for 300 yards. Make the plays in front of you, don’t turn the ball over and be ok with punting sometimes. We will win 6 games if he can be this efficient.

I think the biggest takeaway is that Rocco is the guy at QB going into the Iowa game, which was important to solidify. Next is that Sama needs to get carries. Finally, keep up the special teams play (sans the botched PAT which looked like a problem catching the snap).
