Might as well share this wonderful news. I have cancer of the tongue. Scheduled for surgery next Wednesday to remove the cancerous tissue and rebuild my tongue.
Eating is difficult as it hurts to swallow and chew
Best wishes and hope for a l-o-n-g remission. Wife’s dr. calls it remission, not cure. Some patients are in 10th year of remission.

Best wishes for a successful surgery and recovery. Hopefully you'll be able to visit us here occasionally and let us know how you're doing. We RTT'ers are a family.

May your surgeon's hands be steady, your reconstruction effective, and your recovery swift.

12th straight day of having to work. Right now I'm the only one that knows my position, been training a guy for a couple of days and then today another training day he no shows. My life story truly is Life's a *itch and then you Die.

Oof. That's awful.
I was part of a two-person team on Sunday, but as soon as I saw who the other was, I knew it was a one-person team. I asked ahead of time that we don't do that pairing again. We'll see what happens. (Someone's goal is to stand still and complain, and this person, per her words "hates customers." Not a great fit for our fast-moving customer service job.)

Not many in the line of work like customers unless it's a spot with a bunch of regulars/repeats. You just don't act on it or show it.

When I subbed in schools, bussing tables was the best job for me because if I had a rough day I generally didn't have to talk to anyone which was best for both parties.

Yeah. That's not usually a great personality fit for them, either. And by gum, don't add being lazy to it.

I find that the custodial part is nice at night for the same reason as the bussing. I might have some communication with folks, and a lot more now that we've worked summer together, but it's not a thing where I have to be "on." We just talk and get our stuff done.

That said, I wouldn't hire this one for that, either. I'm not sure where she would really fit.

A woman I work with lives in Woodstock Illinois. Turns out they filmed a lot of Groundhog Day there. At least outdoor stuff as they used to Woodstock town square as the Punxsutawney town square

I'm sorry that you have to deal with one of the added challenges that life sometimes throws at you. Best wishes for good fortune in the surgeries, and a full, expedient recovery.

Spent an entire day there when I visited my grandmother who lives in Elk Grove Village. One of the shops we where in still had people who were there at the time and they had lots of stories to tell.

Would love to visit on Groundhog's Day as they always have a big party on that day.
