I might be the only one and I'll eat my words if it doesn't pan out but I'm very excited about what Rocco has to offer at the QB position. I liked what I saw out of him in the few instances we got to see him last year and I think he'll really settle in to a good spot with some consistency in his playing time. He showed some athleticism and the ability to make accurate throws, he just needs to get used to the D1 game speed. I know Kohl is gonna give him a run for his money and doesn't want to redshirt, but I honestly think he could use a full year in the weight room to beef up and protect himself from injury. After that year it's anybody's job and that's a good problem to have in my opinion. Anybody else feeling slightly optimistic despite the recent news on the gambling front?

No. The staff believed that Dekkers was by far the best option.

I’ve been team Rocco since he stepped on campus. I don’t care if you can throw a ball 80 yards if you’re constantly giving it to the other team.

I was that way with Re-al Mitchell. Was hoping he would be able to turn in to something at ISU but obviously hard to do when you're stuck behind Purdy.

It will be whatever it is in the end. The whole situation sucks but the coaches have probably known for months that Dekkers was not going to be available this year. The betting on ISU just cements the deal forever. At least it sounds like there are some decent options at QB. I just hope that there are no more players lost to this mess.

It's an ugly situation to be in for the team. In the news for the wrong reasons. However on the field I'm not that concerned about changing to our other options at QB. I think among the other guys whoever wins the job will give us just as good of an opportunity as Dekkers did based on his 1 year as the starter. Whether or not Dekkers would have taken a huge leap in development I guess we'll never know.

It may or may not be a factor but if you are a starting QB on a P5 team, 100% of your mental focus has to be on your job. You can’t be sitting in the film room thinking in the back of your mind about the point spread and how much to place on a game. I trust this is a wake up call for Campbell and the team. I hope the RB’s are healthy because they will be key on whether the 3 QB’s have a chance. Whoever starts better be ready because they will be yanked pretty quick if they make mistakes. I think all 3 are being considered as starters with the JC QB slightly below Rocco & Kohl.
