Thought of a new dad joke to use on the family but I will workshop it here first.

"Now we are cooking with electrons!" while using our electric stove/oven.

Will probably go over about as well as when I told people we caught up to on the Upper Iowa River yesterday "we have been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty". I thought it was funny.

In Palo nuke country so you might be "Cooking with Fission" or "Cooking with Neutrons".

True, but the plant was decommissioned a few years ago. Actually drove by it last night and got a little sentimental about the lack of cooling tower steam on the horizon that was such a staple of landscape for decades. My grandfather was a quality engineer for IE on the project and then designed a chunk of the power distribution lines coming out of the facility.

Hmmm... saw a guy in scrubs at Walmart with 4 cases of Natty Light and 2 bottles of tomatoe juice this morning. Must have been a tough shift!!

Yikes, that makes me feel old. I designed the general road layout for the recreation area when the back up cooling reservoir was brand spanking new. Damn, I am old.

BTW, flew over it years later and was pretty amazed that the road layout was very much like junior landscape architect Boxster had laid out for the master plan.

Let's all take a minute and admire Boxster's handiwork.

The biggest difference is the separate access roads for the boat ramps. Pretty sure when we first worked this the point was to have a single main access or "control" point. It was pretty ambitious facilities plan, am pretty surprised most of it got built. Don't remember the process with DNR fisheries peeps on locating the fishing groins but they all ended up just where the master plans located them.

Got me looking and I think three of the landscape architects at Smith-Voorhees-Jensen there at that time (Jim Bradshaw, Mike Albaugh and James Brown) are all deceased. The guy younger than me, is still alive per ISUAA directory.

Well tweaked my knee ended up going to the doctor McFarland clinic says mcl strain got a big brace on it for minimum 2 wks probably 4. Start PT next wk. :confused:Hope that takes care of it.

Yikes. How's that work out with your driving 1000 miles a week?

Actually not bad thankfully (?) It's my left knee. So once you're in it's not too bad. Stairs are tough. Picked up some wide cut dungaree style jeans to get over the brace. Still need to figure out work boots for the one job.

Picked about a pound of wild raspberries, all from a single bush. So good. @VeloClone any plans for tomorrow?
Sorry, I was incommunicado. I spent Friday through Sunday at my brother's property. We were clearing dead trees and brush and splitting the wood. I estimate that we split just over a cord with a bit more that his little electric splitter couldn't handle. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday weekend spending it with my brother, my son and my nephew. Just a good guys weekend with power tools. :)

When I had a partially torn ACL, physical therapy taught me to lead with the good leg/knee going up stairs and the bad leg/knee going down the stairs. It helps.

Didn't do much over the weekend because of the funeral. Usually go to the Brewers game if they are home, which they were, and was going to go Saturday, but never got tickets, which ended up being the right call.

Went to an Irish bar the other night. Got some bangers and mash. We were the only ones in the place which was fine with me.
