Oh they do now, but they are launching Iowa State Online soon where you can take the first 2 years of a degree online or take non-credit courses. And we'll be handling all of the e-commerce for it meaning I'm the first point of contact. The in-person classes have used Canvas for a hot minute and then they got the bright idea to branch out. They don't now? ISU is where I learned to dislike Canvas (especially after dragging a couple TAs through it, which should have gone the other way).
Some of it isn't that bad, but it adds steps where no other LMS adds steps.
DMACC kept announcing a way to migrate courses over from Blackboard, but upon investigation, it excluded just about every single thing I use and do. No help there.
I move over a couple of weeks from a course in an hour or so. It used to take me an hour to move over the semester. Therefore, I whine.

We offered a bunch of classes to farmers and old ladies this past year through a couple of Canvas courses and boy did I spend a lot of time troubleshooting. So the "non credit ISU" courses are going to be a literal pain in my ass.

Also, y'all could hire me as PT remote support. I can answer stuff online from the convenience of home.
In-person is using Canvas as well. They just have developed Canvas enough that they might as well start capturing some of the online monies as well. Right now, "Canvas support" is my "5% other duties as assigned" but it's been way more than 5%. When this gets rolling, I'm sure I'll be moving into more of a "Canvas support" role and relinquishing some of my other duties to someone else. You better believe I'm asking for more money because the role will be partially funded by the University instead of 100% Extension dollars. What are the in-person classes using?
We're also switching to some "Simple Syllabus" thing. I like that it input some of it for me, like the section # and all that. I don't have to care about that. I think it'll put up more of a fight on requirements like phone #, office #, and stuff I don't have through the school. I'm not giving out my cell, and I'm not using my home address or whatever the in-person adjunct office is. I'll never be there, so I'm not setting anyone up for that.

Would you fly into Eppley or somewhere like North Omaha?Doing some preliminary planning for a trip to Omaha for a wedding. Would like to fly since well...I can but then we have to figure out ground transportation. Uber or rental? We would need to drive roughly four times, to/from the airport and then to/from the wedding. The reception is .75/mi from the hotel so I figure we could probably walk that.
Of course this will probably all go out the window when the weather goes IFR and we have to drive anyway.
I would go to Millard.Would you fly into Eppley or somewhere like North Omaha?
I figured you were that kinda guy!I would go to Millard.
Wait is there something I should know here…I figured you were that kinda guy!
I think you already know I'm an insufferable smart-ass, so no, nothing else.Wait is there something I should know here?

Any cows?Well that came out of nowhere. Just sitting watching TV and I hear the siren go off. Check radar and there's a tornado warned storm just in the edge of town. Saw some rotation and a lot of scud.
This is Wisconsin, it's impossible to drive anywhere here and not see any cows. I didn't any flying through the air.Any cows?
