Basketball recruiting update

If McDermott pulled Dykstra's scholarship for no reason, I'd advocate his immediate firing. That'd be the ultimate **** move.

I about fell over when I read that a really good shooter named Kelm verballed to an NAIA school....no worries, it's a different Kelm.
Wisconsin High School Boys Basketball / Youth Boys Basketball

cyismydog, I've asked this before (maybe even in this thread, I can't remember), but why wouldn't we want Ejim over Kelm? I keep hearing Ejim is our backup plan and Kelm is still considering his options. Since we don't have any true 3s in the system right now, why wouldn't we try for two good ones (including Barnes)? I'd hate to blow our chance with Ejim because we're waiting around for Barnes...

We are not waiting on Ejim. We have offered him a scholly and are going after him

cyismydog:
Your speculation is totally inaccurate.
I watched RV play again last night. Dykstra has not and does not play the 1 or 2. He plays the 3-5 spots in the RV offense.
I have stated it before, and I only have my opinion to express, but Dykstra needs to add 40 lbs and double his strength to begin to see minutes at the 4 in Big 12 BB. This would appear to be an automatic redshirt. Also, 6'9" is a stretch.
I suggest that readers may be able to watch the RV team play in the state tournament, and then more posters can see for themselves, and end some of the speculation.

Well at least 1 person will transfer after this season. You can set that in stone.

Why do you say that? Other than history, of course. It's logical but not set in stone. Would you bet your life on it?

As I said before. I read it in an article, but I may have read it wrong, so I wouldn't call it total speculation.
Also, we now will take both Ejim and Barnes. I guess we got tired of waiting for Kelm.

Buckley will never transfer. He loves ISU.

Or was I right?!?!

FYI, it's just the impression I got, was never said that we wanted Ejim and Barnes over Kelm and Ejim/Barnes.

I didn't want to start a new thread on Barnes because lord knows there's enough of them on this site.

I just wanted to let you guys know that Barnes flew down to Durham this morning without telling Coach K so that he could surprise him for the game tonight.

How do you surprise a coach? Doesn't he need help getting into any building...let alone a game?
