Not much of a Nascar guy but this road track racing with a wet track in Chicago is pretty interesting. Chicago people @KnappShack @SaraV what is the scoop with the ferris wheel amongst all the ball fields on the infield of the course.

Think it's just all part of the NASCAR pageantry

But I haven't been paying close attention. I've been focusing my attention on trying to get the oldest to wipe his own rear

He tried. Didn't go well. No amount of Lombardi quality motivational speeches seem to be working.

Highway 30. Well known sales barn there. And also, the location of CW's tax guy.

Pretty disappointing. Was thinking our guy was in France at Le Mans. :(

I do love me some terrible ideas!

Hoping for a detailed after-action update.
DnD goal achieved though dh left the all important paci in the pickup car so that definitely made the 2nd half rough with a crying toddler. 14 mi total, great views, not windy, mostly overcast or shaded to keep the Temps manageable. Went with our two in the trailer, bestie friends with their 1.5yr old in a trailer and their sister and her dog in a trailer. Quite the caravan. Stopped halfway for breakfast at a dive place, pretty good. 2nd half had more tears due to tired and no paci. Adults also considered crying. Dh and I swapped toward the end and I got to appreciate hauling 70lbs of kid plus trailer. Drove through a bit of water that muddy splashed boys. Almost 5yr old proceeded to tell everyone about it, including strangers. Kid will talk to any warm body and probably cold ones too. Stopped for drinks and more food which turned the constant toy fighting to 25 min of blissful play. Then we grabbed ice cream and all napped on the drive back. All in all successful but I bet DH never forgets another paci.

As I was riding into Dunlap on 30 a bald eagle flew right overhead about 30 feet

Had a high school friend that drank a bottle of lime vodka back in the day as we were on senior skip day. We were up cruising around the area and stopped by the high school as we new a few gals up there. He puked all over the schools front sidewalk that day. Never laughed so hard in my life. I was the sober driver that day.

I thought that place closed a few years back.

I think you are right but thought it deserved a mention when talking about dive bars. That is a good thing about WI lots yrs back in blue collar towns you could go out for beers and breakfast coming off night shift.
