Sone of these rankings aren't really fair...is WVU a great school? I don't know, their mission is to educate the high school graduates of their state, not compete for a few spots in US News, the mission of a school like West Virginia is not the same as Michigan or UCLA.
I understand the value of rankings, open doors, and perception of academics for universities obviously. It’s kind of a pet peeve for me though.

This is completely anecdotal. But, my company is based in SF and as we were accelerating our growth/hiring in 2016 we added a lot of Stanford/Cal grads as well as recent grads from other schools. The absolute rockstar on my team was from Penn State, a good school but still a state school). I, myself am an ISU grad, and I was having to hold the hands of a lot of Stanford and Cal grads, who all flamed out within a year. They absolutely could not handle the gig. It was then where I realized, the person is all that matters, not the school.

This doesn’t really have anything to do with realignment. But when I see posts about Georgia being so much better of a business school than Kansas, or the PAC 12 schools being light years ahead of B12 in academics, none of that means jack **** in the real world.

As I’ve noted a few times. That’s like a 25% raise. People are crazy if they don’t think that moves the needle. You can’t move the needle any more without going to the Big 10 or SEC.
It's sort of a 25% raise. Ultimately, it's something like a 7% raise compared to the entire revenue for the athletics department. Ticket sales, concessions and donations are still really really important.

Let's say you make 100K and get a new job offer (from a previous employer) for 107K. However, the commute is a little worse and you think you'll feel more comfortable with your current co-workers a little more than your new co-workers. Because Colorado's AD seems to be in pretty significant debt, I'd probably go for the money but the decision isn't a slam dunk easy one. If it turns out that the true revenue number from the media deal is closer to 22 million because of the school's cost contributions to the conference/network, the decision gets closer to being a slam dunk.

This is my experience with Baylor and aTm grads. The Baylor grads have been simply awful, and aTm grads have been very slow to catch on to things compared to others. I have been pleasantly surprised by TCU grads.

Guys, they literally post the agenda for these meetings. Only thing athletics related was a track and field issue. Stop falling for people’s clickbait.

CU's board of regents meeting will be live streamed at the link below. Athletics is the first topic

9am central

I'm currently batting 1.000 by betting that every one of these meeting will yield nothing in terms of realignment. I will safely place that bet again.

Seriously, have any of the previous moves ever been tipped off via a regents meeting? Seems like they break through other channels and then after that we see a board meeting voting to approve the move.
