2009-Not looking to take anyone. CB will almost surely be around next year
2010
A) Harrison barnes
After Harrison, the two other recruits we're going after really hard are
B) Melvin Ejim, a stud three, who can play anything from the 1 to 5. Probably the best back-up option out there
C)Kelm, remains close to committing, I would bet he finally commits in May-June
D) Also showing interest in Josh Gasser, a 1/2 combo who is scoring thirty points a game in Wisconsin, and is rumored to be close to Iowa and Indiana offers
2011
Illinois-
Chasson Randle-An all around stud, putting up 19 points a game in 5 A Illinois basketball as a sophomore. We are actually having Colvin go to some of his games now, and having them establish a relationship. I really like our chances with Chasson, he's visiting this weekend.
(He's also ranked first in his class at Rock Island for academics.)
Michael Shaw-
We may get him in for a visit, but as of right now, he'll probably be an Illini.
Sam Thompson- Another class of 2011 stud, a 6'6 multi talented 3
We're also showing some interest in several others from 2011. There's a few whose names I won't release from a while, as we're keeping our recruitment of them on the DL
Wisconsin
Paul Jesperson-continuing to show interest, though right now, we want Darnell Harris over him
Darnell Harris-Multi-talented player. Played the 4 during AAU, but we're recruiting him as a 3. He would already be committed, but we haven't offered yet because he has some works to do on grades. FWIW, we really want him, and hope he can get the grades, because after another summer of AAU, this kid is going to blow up. He is long, athletic, a great passer, a great shooter, defender, and hs awesome court vision.
Darell Longstreet- A great shooter who can also get to the rim, Longstreet is a very good player. He broke his wrist and is out for the rest of the season.
We are also recruiting Rasham Suarez, a soph from Findlay Prep, formerly from IC West
There are some bigs that we are after in 2011, but I'm not sure who they all are yet.
2012
Staten-continues to improve at an almost frightening rate. He's really, really good. Staten is projected to end up somewhere around 6'4" to 6'5"
Mike Gesell- He's 6'0", but doctors project him to grow to 6'4", his older brother was approximately 6'7" and played for Mac at Wayne State. He's a great shooter, and can dunk it already, I'm just hoping he grows
Marcus Paige-6'0" and about done growing. He's just a really smart, talented player. Close to offers from Wisconsin and Iowa
Otis Pirtle-A talented three from the state of wisconsin
Junior Lomomba-Really good, Duke will probably offer pretty soon. He lives with the Maymon's (As in Jeronne and his crazy father.) He is rumored to be going to Oak Hill next year
JP Tkoto
A talented 4 man from the state of Wisconsin, he and Lomomba are battling for the tag of the best player in the state of Wisconsin

How many official visits are high school players allowed in basketball? I think in football it is six but someone correct me if that's wrong.

Does GMac just prefer to not play with a typical 5 man or what? I'm really hoping to see some good true post players show up on these lists, as I think they are very valuable. Hamilton is really the only one we have now.

Don't get me wrong, because I too prefer the athletic 4's, but it really lets them operate more freely if you can have a solid 5 down low.

Maybe he's looking for a quick athletic team that can run the floor? A style of play a lot of people would love to see.

Hamilton is pretty doggone good long-term solution at the 5. He has good feet and hands, he learns really quick, and he improves extraordinarily well for a guy that's 7'0" 265.

The offense wil suit the personnel. Next year at times I wouldn't be suprised to see a line-up like this
1. Colvin/buckley
2.Diante/ Wes
3. Gilstrap
4. LA
5. Craig
That team right there would be really athletic, and quick.

I distinctly recall a year ago that Mac explained he likes playing two 4s a lot of the time because it creates mismatches. Imagine two Craig Brackins's on the floor.

Where are Lucca and Hamilton in that combination?
I was just showing a line-up that would take advantage of our athleticism, that we will probably use if the situation is right. (Like against Iowa, that line-up would run them off the court.)

I see Lucca as the 6th man next year who will still get a ton of minutes. I heard from a very reliable source that DG will be the 2 next year, meaning colvin will probably start at PG. And im assuming gillstrap will start at the 3.
PG Colvin
SG Garrett
SF Gillstrap
PF Brackins
C Hamilton

Now thats's a winning basketball team

i really like that lineup there with Lucca and wes coming off the bench to shoot and buckley to play point as well as LA for D and Vanderbeken for Offense. that could be a pretty good team nxt yr

Little off topic here, but what type of offensive production should we expect from Gilstrap next year? I know he's scoring a ton at GCCC, but I was wondering how much of that will translate into Big 12 play.

Also, has the coaching staff said anything that will make me even more excited about him than I already am?

I still don't ever get Garrett playing the 2. I just don't see him productive in that role at all. If he was, then why don't we ever see a Buckley/Garrett line up? I'm just not at all excited to see a guy that can't shoot playing the 2 position.

There is some trouble with that. If he gets his shooting to be consistently strong, then it could be a nice lineup that way. If not, he's another slasher, but still not a shooter.

Well from what i've heard thats where he will be playing.
