IMO if we were to land Gilbert, Pav and Darrion Williams. Jeremiah Williams would more than likely be the one to see his projected/expected minutes decrease. I think all 3 of Gilbert, Pav and Darrion Williams are better than J Williams from film.

At 100% J. Williams is a very good piece. However, coming off an achilles blow out you never know what you're going to get. Have to protect your lineup by loading up on combo guardsIMO if we were to land Gilbert, Pav and Darrion Williams. Agreed. I just think with Lipsey being a facilitator we need to surround him with scoring which Gilbert, Pav and D Williams seem to excel at more than J Williams. I think J Williams is still a core piece to the team as a plus defender and facilitator. Would just be tough having both him and Tamin on the floor from a scoring perspective. J Williams definitely not getting completely pushed out of rotation by any means but don’t see him starting along side Lipsey with the other 3 potentially coming in.At 100% J. Sounds like with Jeremiah's injury, he may not be 100% for a while. If that is the case, they probably want lighter minutes, and then maybe increase them when he's fully ready to go.IMO if we were to land Gilbert, Pav and Darrion Williams. Agree, especially coming off the serious injury. There is no such thing as too many good guards. You know Lipsey and Omaha are starting.IMO if we were to land Gilbert, Pav and Darrion Williams. I know it doesn't seem like a priority to the coaches, but wouldn't it be great to land two guards of the three visiting and then spend the last scholarship on a P5 centerAgree, especially coming off the serious injury. Lipsey
Pav
D Williams
Biliew
Tre
Key reserves:
Gilbert
Milan
BRE
Ward
Most unknown:
Watson
J Williams
Redshirt candidate:
Hamilton
Fish
Most teams have 8-9 players who play most minutes. I think we could have 10 knowing BRE/Ward split the backup 5 minutes and Biliew and Milan are freshman unknowns . Watson needs a BIG offseason in the offensive side. He has an elite defense to build on and we all know how TJ LOVES DEFENSE.
Oh! Well you’d be 100% right then. Those two were insane. And you could even throw in Kemba Walker and Napier in 2011I am going back to when UConn beat ISU on the route to their title with Boatright at 6' and Napier at 6'1" as their guards.
It’s whatever makes the team better on the court while making sure the locker room stays cohesive. Lipsey being a backup next year likely means he hasn’t developed enough offensively but he doesn’t seem like a guy who’d throw in the towel and want to leave.I know some on this site would call this blasphemy, but what if Gilbert is better and a higher producer than Lipsey? Could you tolerate Lipsey getting backup minutes? I feel it makes the team more valuable having that type of player coming off the bench

I’m curious why you’d prefer Pav? He’s smaller and played at a smaller school, I’m not as sure he translates and doesn’t fit our defensive approach as well.I will be happy if this kid comes, but I do not seem him fitting our greatest need. The Kimberly kid Pav / forecast to Marquette/ is the guy I would want most. UNLV kid is not a perfect need fit either - but again would be a solid add.
I too do not like the 1-5 nomenclature anymore but sometimes it seems helpful when talking about players. IMO, we need two 2’s.

I’d rather get Gilbert and Williams and then see if we can get a high scoring 5th yr guard.
Because basketball is more than analytics. Obviously, TJ likes what he gives the team beyond offense.I also hate being a BRE basher, because it's obvious he cares and gives A TON of effort.. But why do people keep saying something along the lines of...
"If BRE makes the same leap in 2023/24 as he did in 2022/23, he'll be a good role player"
Torvik data says BRE regressed in all categories except rebounding in 2022/23 conference play versus 2021/22.

2022/23 non conference, BRE was very improved, but once the competition reached tournament teams.....

Agree that he's a nice 8-15 MPG guy. Less is more IMO. Come in with 2 minutes to go until a TV timeout and when there are traditional 5's in the game who Tre/Omaha and others can't guard as wellBecause basketball is more than analytics. Obviously, TJ likes what he gives the team beyond offense.
Just feel Rob will be better next year and still be a 15mpg player for ISU.
Doesn’t have time to put his shirt onMusselman is BUSY my goodness.
I'm pretty high on Pav, he was really good against P6 teams and fills the biggest(IMO) need as a capable shooter and ball handler. I get the concerns defensively, but he had a stellar season from a volume and efficiency standpoint, and I'd rather see if he can sustain that than ask someone to reach those levels.I’m curious why you’d prefer Pav? I would add that the roster is pretty well set to make up for a SG that has some defensive deficiencies. Back line of Ward, Watson, Omaha and PG combo of Asuma/William are all + defenders allowing for Pav to match up against other teams worst offensive player. I also assume Pav will improve on defense under this staff as he learns the system and his role.I'm pretty high on Pav, he was really good against P6 teams and fills the biggest(IMO) need as a capable shooter and ball handler. Plus, I can't help but think they want to wrap that skillset up a bit quicker this year after banking on Green to be that guy and ending up with a major void there when the NBA came calling. Is Pav 4th year AJ Green? No, but he has a lot of the same skills and could be in two years.
