***2022-23 CFB Bowl Games Thread***

Well, it is the biggest game of the entire day. I don't like ESPN either but this seems petty. They already dedicated a bunch of time to USC and Tulane.
I have no issue with the location either (*Pasadena is more beautiful than Arlington*), but the Cotton Bowl is just as big of a game today. Kind of the point that the Rose Bowl is built up to by some kind of mythical game bigger than it really is.

Both the Rose and the Cotton are two of the four Historical NYD games, and the match-ups are relatively even with the Rose (#07 Pac Champion vs. #09 3rd best B1G team) and Cotton (#14 AAC Champion vs. #08 Pac Runner-Up). Rose has slightly higher rankings, but Cotton didn't have to dip for a 3rd place team for an opponent).

Both have a nice Parade, but the Cotton Bowl has the Heisman Trophy Winner and the Kilgore Majorettes. Don't forget the Majorettes! :)

Personally, I find the Cotton Bowl match-up more interesting today. Ironcially, it is a rematch of the 1932 Rose Bowl from the Rose's Golden Era when they matched the Best Team from the West vs. a top team from the East - before the post WWII B1G tie-in.

*Edited to add city names*.

Agreed, i have a family connection to Tulane so it's the bowl im most looking forward to today.

They've had a storybook season but I don't see them hanging with USC. I think it will look like the Alabama-K State game.

Chris Fowler said last night that TCU making the Championship had the feeling a mid-major like Gonzaga making the Finals in the NCAA Tournament.

That being said, Go Frogs! The importance of Big Xii Teams (not named OUT) doing good things cannot be underscored during these transitional times. :)

The Big Xii being strong and respected helps Iowa State in fat and lean years.

Let's Go State AND Big Xii!

Send Fowler back to good ol' Scholastic Sports Today.

Of course, the next one in will just parrot the same stuff.

Will laugh at his mid-major CU Buffalo ass when...
the Colorado Clowns are back in the Big Xii + 4...
getting their butts beat!

Not sure if anyone else is watching Illinois/Miss St but I can't believe they overturned that fumble/incomplete pass. Illinois WR clearly took two steps and was turning up field

I am watching, but I missed it (stepped away),
but I am rooting for Illinois.
GREAT call! / sarcasm

I take Miss State, turn it on and the first series I see them run is 4 yard pass, 4 yard pass, run for no gain.

Ugh

Fowler can go **** himself.

Green Wave!! Great hustle by the other WR to box out the defender
I'm not sure why, but one of my favorite things to watch in football is WR's blocking downfield. The guy that scored will obviously get the stats but that other WR gets a ton of credit for turning a big chunk play into an 87 yard TD

Purdue is such a joke as usual. Golly this is the problem with the Big 10, way too many armpit programs that do not belong, no wonder Brohm got out of there, this is pathetic, money makes these programs soft.

Laughable but at least more factual than your uneducated opinion.
LoL, people still care about bowl records. NY 6 and CFP games are all that matters.
I mean, just think of the Okie St vs Wisky game. OSU had 5 defensive starters out and started a third string QB. I don't even know how many offensive starters they had missing. OSU literally started a guy at DB that hadn't played a snap all season!
