Jaz Kunc has a Broken Finger

Has this been a nagging injury? I seem to remember hearing Jazz's finger had been bothering him for a while. Sucks a lot, but this year's team is better equipped to handle this. If this happened last year it's a complete disaster.
Seems like he was banged up prior to the season a bit, unless I'm misremembering. Might have been unrelated to the finger.

This just means more minutes for Tre King -- hopefully a good thing -- and it means Demarion Watson won't just be relegated to spot minutes and will probably still have to play role minutes, and perhaps more than what we want a true freshman playing in Big 12 action.

I know Osun doesn't play the same position, but he might have to be out there more than he has been. Really need our upperclassmen to rise to the occasion. That is Gabe, Osun, Jaren, and Tre.

Really wish we could have had that Omaha game to get Tre King some more minutes. We are pretty deep at the 4 though with King, Watson and Ward being able to play there. None are able to hit outside like Jaz could and I worry some about their defensive rotation compared to Kunc.

The Des Moines Register did report that it happened in practice. To be honest, this may be a blessing in disguise. This gives Damarious Watson some glory minutes to show what he’s got. I think the kid has serious untapped potential!
I think Watson will continue to get minutes, but he might be at his ceiling right now as far as how productive he can be as a freshman. 2 ppg against the likes of McNeese, Western Michigan, and IUPUI's of the world doesn't translate to a whole heck of a lot against Big 12 opponents. He might not drop off either, but he certainly isn't going to do a whole lot better. He does have some potential, but he hasn't shown a lot yet outside of being a guy who fits the mold for us. Plays good defense and seems to know where he needs to be, has some raw athleticism but ultimately can't do anything offensively besides dunk yet. He is our 6'6'' version of Hason Ward.

Respect your opinion, but strongly disagree. Watson can be a stud. Just needs more time.
