2022 NCAA FB Coaching Carousel

Who decided letting a tape of this meeting out to the world was a good idea... not a good early look.

Deon's is Primetime. He the new sheriff in town and will do things differently.

It's going to be a fun watch- a mixture of reality TV and a Nascar race. Deon's either going to turn things around in 3 years or crash & burn in 2 years or less.

This reminds me of the scene in Smokey and the Bandit when Sheriff kicks that kid in the ass. "That's what ya call an attention getter"

I go back and forth on NIL and the new world of college ball.

Then I see the new coach telling the legacy players to get out.

Go get paid, guys

Unfortunately, the ones he's telling to get out are the ones that aren't going to get paid. They were actually the ones who wanted that scholarship. So some kids are going to do quite well for themselves, others are seeing the underbelly of this system far more often.

Guaranteed 4 year scholarships need to happen. If a new coach comes in and decides that you aren't good enough to make the team, then that's fine remove them from the tram. Don't count the scholarship against the limit, but it should still be honored by the athletic department.

I must be missing something, what is so attractive about Deion Sanders?
He has been a huge attention magnet, many times called the best CB to ever play. He is still very well known publicly. He has the charisma that all the players want.

Really not understanding the Satterfield hire. Isn't he getting run out of Louisville? If he can't win in the ACC, not sure why anyone should believe he'd win in the new look Big 12, especially since he'll have to overcome a resource gap that I don't imagine he had to the same extent in Louisville (correct me if I'm wrong).

It strikes me as the type of hire you'd make in a hurry just to get it done in time for the portal, as opposed to the result of a calculated search looking for the best long term fit for the new era.

Or he could be choice number five or six?

Satterfield wanted an extension at Louisville. He was 0-3 against Kentucky, so he didn't get one, so he bolted for Cincinnati.

I think the LAST team a player plays for needs to guarantee the scholarship availability to get an undergraduate degree.

This keeps the ability for the 95% that won't go to the NFL the ability to get a degree and puts the onus on the last place that recruits the player.
