*** CFB Championship Week Games Thread***

Day was awful against Michigan no argument their. Way too conservative when he needed to put up points and team was very undisciplined. I just don't think there's another team that will be able to pressure Georgia's defense like Ohio State except maybe Alabama
Not this OSU team, they have no RB or second stud WR do to injuries and their Oline isn’t what it was. If you put any other name on the jerseys this would be a good but not elite team

Agree. tOSU is probably the last team Georgia wants in the semis. This could be setting up similar to 2015 when the Buckeyes got in at #4, beat Bama and won the whole thing.
Agree completely if you're going to beat the SEC's best you have to do it in the air imo. You aren't going to beat uga on the ground. I give Michigan about least chance because of that. Kudos on the Michigan over Ohio state call btw

The playoffs isn't for a full month and ohio state doesn't play this week. They'll have 5 weeks. A lot of their injuries are nagging types. I think Ohio States a dangerous matchup. We will see

Sure anything can happen and with stroud they have a chance but stroud is really bad in close games or dealing with pressure. I’ve been saying it all season and last year but Day isn’t that guy, just can’t coach in big games.

He was terrible last week but I wouldn't say can't coach in big games. The beat down of #1 clemson in playoffs was pretty big

Agree. Georgia will be a clear favorite and should be, I just think tOSU could give them trouble. I remember hearing many of the same things prior to their semi matchup with Bama and we know how that went. I also think some people are deifying Georgia a bit too much. They barely escaped against a bad Missouri team, struggled with a mediocre Kentucky team. We'll see.

Same thing in 2020 with Clemson vs Ohio State

Looks like they will not update Heisman odds until after all the CCGs are played, even though, as the title suggests, USC & Caleb Williams has lost to Utah twice. But I thought I's post it anyway due to their write up on the Big 12 CCG:

Max Duggan vs Kansas State – Big 12 Championship Game

NCAA Football: Kansas State at Texas Christian
Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports
A weekend of rematches also provides us with Max Duggan getting a second crack against the Kansas State Wildcats. When these two teams last met, back on Oct. 22, the stakes were a bit lower. However, Duggan thrived at Amon G. Carter Stadium, posting 280 passing yards with three touchdowns and a 72.3 QBR.
It was one of the few bad performances by the Wildcats’ defense this season. Through 12 games, Kansas State ranks 19th in average quarterback rating (119.8) with opponents completing just 59% of their pass attempts and averaging 220.9 yards per game through the air.
Of course, Duggan is just a Heisman Trophy finalist right now. In order for him to have a shot at winning the award, he must have the performance of his life and Williams to commit multiple turnovers in a loss to Utah.
That’s precisely what happened on Friday. Williams still performed well and would have our Heisman vote, but the door is now open for Duggan to at least make a case on the national stage with Heisman voters watching closely.

That Alabama team was stacked 8 picks of first 38 and played 5 more games than Ohio State that year. I think that result was expected by most.
Trust me I know what it’s like playing against the stacked bama team. Watched sparty and Michigan get obliterated by bama. That was the beginning of Clemsons downward slide.

Max Duggan should win the Heisman. He means more to his team than any other candidates
It’s not an MVP vote, it’s for the best player in college. If he wins this game he has a shot with USC losing but I still think it goes to Williams. Big12 just doesn’t get the respect nationally

That was a bad postseason for big ten championship opponents. I started praying to McCaffrey after the Rose Bowl
