Where did you find this? I have searched for it in the policies and I haven't found it anywhere...Looking forward to the new RV Village. Mainly because of no more noisy generators and no diesel fumes (from my RV). Also, not as much 'tailgate creep' with the assigned spots and a more defined area. I did chuckle at some of the restrictions (no glass bottles, no liquor. and no standalone speakers). I did upgrade my amplification this year, but if you knew what I had before it was laughable, but it worked.
I understood the 'no DJ Booth' or PA setups. Not everyone wants to listen to your music as much as you do... (especially when you are drunk singing the first 30 seconds of each song at midnight, that was annoying)
There will be some adjustments from D4 to here, but I like it.
I got spot 429 and I am next to a college roommate, so that will be fun. Will be there 9/2. My dogs are itching to get back in the rig.

Guess Vodka for bloody marys and fireball will need to be "hidden"
- All patrons who are under 21 years of age are strictly prohibited from using alcoholic beverage on University property. The use of alcohol on University property or property controlled by Iowa State University is only allowed in accordance with federal, state and local laws, as well as Iowa State University policy. Beer and wine are allowed in parking areas. State law prohibits hard liquor consumption or possession of an opened bottle of hard liquor on public property, which includes Iowa State University parking lots. Individuals who choose to consume alcohol are responsible for their behavior and should not operate a motor vehicle after they have consumed alcohol.
Agreed. This is no change in policy. They are just reminding those that get out of hand that this is another stick the authorities have and another charge they can pile on you if you are being an asshat and getting out of hand. I don't imagine enforcement will change any. It is doubtful that they are going to give the relatively big donors in the RV lot a hard time about this. Happy donors tailgating in an expensive RV lot with donor level requirements attached means stable money coming into the AD.That would mean it is the same law as always, no? Just a matter of if it is decided to be enforced? Just like open container is ignored in the lots, but don't try to cross a street with an open can.
I can't tell you how often I have crossed the street with an open container at Jack Trice. Right in front of the cops no less. Don't be a jackass or a stumbling drunk and you'll be fine. That would mean it is the same law as always, no? Just a matter of if it is decided to be enforced? Just like open container is ignored in the lots, but don't try to cross a street with an open can.
I would drop the Jeep and park it in public parking at the stadium and then walk back to get it when needed. Or, a folding bicycle is handy to get back and forth to the vehicle. When visiting us in the D RV lots my son would park in public parking and then walk over to our motorhome.Disappointed they will not allow a flat tow vehicle behind a Class C or Class A RV.
I have a 36' Class C RV with a flat tow a Jeep Wrangler (under 55'). Use this to visit children in Des Moines on Fridays and/or Ames dining on Friday nights.
Will be a long walk to the west side of stadium!
This has ALWAYS been the rule. But I can't remember anyone ever being called on it.From the email we received with our assigned spot:

I was sure I saw basically a full liquor table that one game in the rented tents in the middle it was sponsored by a liquor store I thought, but I could be wrong. This was last yr.
I seem to remember no charcoal grills and no open fires. What are the general rules on fire pits? Were they allowed in the RV lots before?
I remember reading “no glass (bottles)” in the lots. To this day, those are not out in the open at our tailgate. This has ALWAYS been the rule. But I can't remember anyone ever being called on it.
Cyclone Liquors has had center tents. Haven’t been in one of theirs for a few years.I was sure I saw basically a full liquor table that one game in the rented tents in the middle it was sponsored by a liquor store I thought, but I could be wrong. This was last yr.
The bridge will shorten that up.Disappointed they will not allow a flat tow vehicle behind a Class C or Class A RV.
