I doubt it for this year, but next year will be the 100th anniversary and I am hoping for and expecting some great retro uniforms along with other things to mark the event.

GTech is doing now, what we should have done back in about 1983, with Criner, and the color change then. GTech is adding the snappier yellow to their traditional gold. We, in 1983, did away with our traditional gold (at least 1 of them, the sunflower gold), and replaced it with the mustard yellow-gold. It was either / or, not both. We also went to a brighter shade of cardinal.
I like what GTech is doing. Their traditional home gold jersey and helmet, white pant look, sometimes gets a little old and looks a little too 'light', IMO. What they are doing will give them a few more options.
They are quite different from what ISU could be however, by adding our old sunflower gold back. For example, old gold is probably GTech's primary color; cardinal is ours (in football under CMC, anyway). They have a gold helmet and jersey; we have neither (in gold). Huge difference. We also don't have a gold pant. I'd like to change that if we could get the sunflower gold.
OK, these might give you some idea. These are unfinished, btw. The gold pant is 'sunflower' gold. The trim in the cardinal jerseys is the current 'athletics' yellow-gold, as are the numbers on the cardinal jersey.
1238576073jb, I know you might like the white helmet, w/c/g combination. I got the idea from you a while back! For others, I just don't have the red or black helmets done yet, nor the cardinal pant, other jerseys, etc. I realize that a w/c/g might not be a favorite combination by many. Yes, the c/c/c, c/c/w, w/c/w, b/c/c, b/b/b, etc., will be more popular. And by getting a gold pant, I'd like the future option of wearing c/c/g combo every so often! The key again, will be the sunflower gold addition! That's my plan anyway.

Good work. I like seeing mock-ups. At first I didn't like lack of white on the pants for the W-C-G, but it includes white socks, so maybe that helps balance the unit.
If we were able to add back our old sunflower gold, obviously the stripe design could change, more white, etc.
I haven't finished the all-reds yet, so I can't show you. But I think having a prominent white in the middle of any gold pant stripe, would not look right with the c/c/g combo. You would almost need to add considerably more white to the current cardinal helmet. which is certainly possible.
I tried a number of stripes out. I liked this one best, for now. Later, I will be able to show what other stripes might look like.

Stripe w/ more white (down the middle). Picture the mock on the right w/ a cardinal helmet. It would only need just a touch of white in the helmet bumpers.
For the uniform nerds (myself being counted), this is pretty cool!
I think its maybe a good sign that team photos were taken in CCW last week - I hope we go CCW (home) & CWC (away) all season long

As much as we have gravitated to the Trice stripe logo, and considering they have consistently kept that uniform in featured areas, I think you might be right.
I think we could see it, being used/kept as a special alternate for special games. One of those uniforms that shows up every few years or maybe once a year as a special tribute.
It could just be that it fits with the Trice stripe logo use, but I would think there would be a lot of requests to use it, with it being featured and so visible.
They have had it standing in the same spot since the facility was built. I don't think that's a big tell it will be used this season tbh.
Fair enough. I’m really not a fan of them even with the history involved.
I’d much rather I clean version of the orrnado but that’s probably not happening.
I’ve looked high and low but I swear CW did a podcast with a coach back before the 20-21 season and he mentioned on that pod we’d be getting something for this year that fans wouldn’t agree with.
I don’t think I made that up in my mind but I can’t seem to find it anywhere when I search forums.
Im more thinking because they have kept it around, and because we have popularized the Trice Logo, that we will see this or a version of this throw back again.
I can see it being used occasionally. Not like we use the Blacks or something but maybe something we use every few years etc.
