Who can tell me about this helmet in the background of a recruit's tweet?

I am familiar with the cardinal version of this helmet, but don't recall seeing the gold version, although maybe my memory is just getting bad?

For reference, I first saw the helmet here:

Was never worn. A number of their collection are not gamers it appears, but this one isn’t even an example of one. Could just be a mock up the equipment room made.

No bugle that I recall - as BMW mentions above, I wish they'd post a pic of the entire wall - they did post one on IG stories (or whatever it's called), but that post is long gone
Don't know if this this helps or not. for what it's worth. I probably saved this pic from p. 50, or something, of this thread. Kidding, but it was a while ago.

I think these are miniature (look at the phillips-head screws)(but I'm not 100% sure). Some do look more real than others. Some look pretty 'toy-like'.

These are really cool, only thin I would say is he should remove the face masks from the first few to make them more like the real ones, but man I would love a set of these.

Georgia Tech unveiled new uniforms today. Using both an "Old Gold" and an "Athletic Gold"

These are pretty sharp uniforms with a little nod to past uniforms

I know a lot of people want to complain about "gold" & especially that there's like thirty shades of gold on these particular uniforms, but its obvious GT meant to use all the different shades of gold

My only two critiques: 1) I wish they would have went with a brighter, shinier helmet, something more akin to the center stripe on the pants, & 2) the truncated pant stripes (is this a historical nod? I couldn't find any truncated stripes in their past...)

Nevertheless, a sharp uniform

Our game vs Kansas State this year (October 8th) marks the 99th anniversary of Jack Truce’s death. Any chance we wear JT inspired uniforms or have the bars on our helmets?

I like what they've done here. I've always thought GaTech's unis had a bit too much of the old, darker gold, and no new brighter gold 'snap'. It appears that they have added a brighter new gold, while retaining the old gold also.

I'd like ISU to do a "similar" thing. Go back and add our "old gold", not the Stapleton or earlier gold, but add the "sunflower" gold we had in the '70's and early '80's. How I propose we do that would be quite different from GaTech though.

We could use the two shades of gold by adding an old gold pant (using the old sunflower gold), while keeping the current brighter gold for trim, numbers (if using gold numbers on cardinal jersey), etc. We would keep our current brighter gold on all signage, logos, other sports unis. Nothing has to change there. [We don't need a gold helmet or jersey at this time.]

Our AD could even write an addendum to our uniform color policy, indicating that all school sports uniforms must have "atleast some of the current brighter gold in them", and that the old gold or sunflower gold, would be optional. This, so that we don't totally change back to the old gold, which I think would be a mistake. [Just don't use our brighter, current yellow-gold for any future football pant, jersey, or helmet.]

I know our current AD would not go for a complete color change anyway, to the old sunflower gold.

Can you post a photo of the "sunflower" gold you are referring to?

ISU COLORS 4-2022 1 #1-9 with Descriptors.jpg
Sure, pane #9. Panes #1 and 2 above, are ISU official "University" Cardinal & Gold (I think). #4 and 5 are official ISU "Athletics" Cardinal & Gold (I think). This is what we mostly see on our ISU sports uniforms. Panes #7-9 are what I'm using for my mockups, with the additional sunflower gold.

To be more clear, regarding what I'm calling our "old gold or sunflower gold", see pane #9, is a close approximation to what we had in the '70's, and what I think looks best, on average, between 2 of my large screen tv's and 2 of my laptops. Each tv or laptop monitor looks a little different, even if you try to get them all about the same color. Another reason why working with colors is very difficult.

I included the Pantone # (when appropriate) and/or the RGB exact color I'm using. Hope you can make it out.

I'll try to post a pic of 1-2 of my current mocks soon, maybe tomorrow. They are good enough to show, just not done. It will give a better idea of how the 2 golds might look together. It's just that I'm not quite done with them, so they are "unfinished"! But I'll get 'em done soon. I haven't wanted to finish them too fast, this round. I'll probably be able to get them done about mid Aug, or so.

Too many other things to do, other than uniforms. Although I still enjoy doing 'em.
Edit: "TN" (in the color graph) stands for me, t-noah, btw.
