Huh, I'm actually stunned they bothered to think that far ahead on that part considering they didn't bother thinking about anything else on NIL stuff
For many it’s always just been the precursor for pay-for-play, so some concessions on the first step needed. You have to slowly erode the convictions players shouldn’t be paid like employees.

Somebody was asking when the first blue blood will stop recruiting HS players and just go after transfers; but I could see many schools at all levels go all in on only transfers. Less time on recruiting, so if you lose a recruit at the last second you only wasted a couple weeks instead of 2 years. You see how they play in actually college games. And you have a little bit more protection from them transferring out with the 1 year sit rule.

Midmajors could create powerhouses from 4 and 5 stars that failed in the P6. Blue bloods just buy who they want. And schools like us shuffle between transfers up who outgrew mid majors and transfers down who didn’t quite live up to their rating. Maybe a few transfers over for players that didn’t quite fit in their current situation.

Who knows what will happen to HS recruiting. Maybe just take 2 random kids a year. It’s not like they’re gonna be there long anyway.

That was me and fwiw I agree with you. It's the relegation system people have talked about for conferences, only it's the players moving up and down, not the teams.

This completely fabricated conspiracy theory is only the beginning?
You’re not on here to “ease our minds” that Hunter isn’t leaving, you’re here to puff your chest out and brag about UNC. There’s plenty of reason to believe that this rumor of Hunter leaving isn’t completely fabricated. We don’t care about the “where”.

You're missing the point completely, no one cares where he ends up if he's not in Ames next year. I couldn't care less if the original rumor of UNC is correct or if he ends up playing D-III for $17 million. Go back to rooting for a team that always wins, you'll be fine if you just leave. I promise.

Blue bloods filling up with proven talent will also lessen the demand for HS players. At our level, We could be in the running for a lot better players right out of highschool than we have in the past. We’ll just need to be prepared for them to leave after a productive year. There’s stilll room for teams like ISU to maneuver and find our place, and luckily we have a coach that seems to excel at recruiting, and wants to be here long term.

Team cohesion, roster management and implementing your system in a short amount of time will be very important in our new reality of massive roster turnover.

My 1st post was literally a giant list of facts that explained why this rumor is completely false. There are zero reasons to believe this rumor about UNC tampering and offering money for a player they don't have room for at a position they don't need help at. The "where" is literally all this rumor is about.

What made Iowa so successful was that they got guys and developed them and most of the time they were good college players but not good enough to go pro. Now that that is taken away from teams like Iowa (and Iowa State for that matter) I’m not sure how they can compete without going transfer heavy when a kid leaves and hope you can find a player who can be a solid replacement.

Room? Who cares? If somebody pays you a million bucks you can afford to walk on.

Carolina looked like the #8 seed they were in the second half against KU - offense was street ball.
Also, how much "talent" can they have if a transfer like Brady Manek is indispensable...

Way up there
Someone is really here to defend the Carolina programs good name? The rumor about teams tampering isn't a rumor, its an accepted fact that gets ignored. Nothing at is intriguing about programs who have always cheated finding new ways to cheat.
