He only retracted once someone called it out for tampering as he wasn't even in the portal lol.The retraction the guy put out was barely a retraction. He said "I didn't realize it's not public yet", not that it was completely made up.
Could you start a forum on the UNC message boards that ISU is trying to steal Armando Bacot? Feel free to get creative with the detailsNothing about this story is true.
- UNC is loaded at point guard. You have junior RJ Davis, a McDonald's All American, who just took UNC to the national championship game. You have Caleb Love, a 5-star McDonald's All American, who is probably coming back. You have incoming freshman Seth Trimble, a top 40 recruit. Then we have 5-star Simeon Wilcher coming in 2023.
- UNC currently has no open scholarships. If one were to open up, the immediate priority would be to find a stretch 4 who can offset the loss of 6'9" 3-point marksman Brady Manek. If a 2nd scholarship were to open up, the 2nd priority would be another wing scorer.
- InsideCarolina is the most heavily trafficked college basketball board on the planet. They haven't missed a scoop on UNC basketball in 20 years. Nobody on their premium board even knew who Tyrese Hunter was until somebody popped in to say "have you guys seen the rumor Iowa State fans are spreading?"
No one associated with UNC is spending $750,000 on a guard who shoots 27% from 3pt range. No one from UNC is tampering with a player who doesn't even have the slightest chance of getting minutes on our team next year considering we are loaded at his position next year (and for the foreseeable future.) I'm honestly a bit concerned you guys have taken such an obviously nonsensical rumor and run this far with it. This is flat earther level conspiracy nonsense.
It’s entirely possible that he does have a source that told him it’s BS, I don’t know why he would lie about that. Could his source have been wrong? Also possible. But don’t be hypocritical when there’s another certain insider who’s claiming there’s “smoke” but hasn’t mentioned any sources. If anyone loses credibility here it’s that said person who’s just running with information from some random dude on twitter (who has since admitted his original tweet had no backbone)It's a bet that his source knows what he's talking about. If he turns out to be right, he gets the nerdy journalistic glory for having been right, first.
His story on instagram gave the option for people to respond and ask him questions. What does that even mean?

Him saying “let me hear something before I go ghost” means - “let me hear what my fans have to say before I don’t post on hear for a while/log off my social media/don’t respond for a while”
Just reading into it, that’s not the best especially at this time w him not physically being in Ames and these rumors swirling.
The "retraction" was basically not a retraction, he said he didn't realize it wasn't publicly known yet. Obviously I don't know if anything is set in stone but I just don't buy that that guy who named Tyrese and the other College Basketball guy who said something cryptic about big B12 news on the same afternoon are completely baseless. It’s entirely possible that he does have a source that told him it’s BS, I don’t know why he would lie about that. What other smoke?Who said he's lying? Not me. I was just responding to the question of why he would stick his neck out with something so declarative when it goes against all the other "smoke" going around.
You're only as credible as your source. He's the only journalist that has made a statement on public forum. He's now tied to that source's information. It’s entirely possible that he does have a source that told him it’s BS, I don’t know why he would lie about that. Could his source have been wrong? You'll have to ask the poster I rssponded to. I was quoting him. What other smoke?
NIL will ruin athletics for schools like us. This is only the beginning.
No clue if you’re joking but the newest recruiting site On3 (from the guy that made 247 I believe?) actually does assign an NIL value to their players in their rankings. Very surreal to meWell if schools/coaches can now 'legally' cheat, then I think when these gurus rank players for 2023 and beyond, they shouldn't have 4-star or 5-star behind their name, but instead NIL market value. Basically they have turned this into non-amateur sports. The millions of college basketball fans supporting these college programs , financially and passionately, deserve to know what teams are paying the athletes then. Do we know if NIL deals are made public knowledge?
In all honesty, and trying to think positive in a miserable situation, it wouldn't be a horrible one for one trade. Obviously, we want BOTH of them, but I don't think Lipsey is that far behind Tyrese on what he brings to the table. Tyrese was not a great shooter. AJ Green is and Tamin looks like he can facilitate the point every bit as well as Tyrese could or at least close and play similar defense.Throw some money at AJ Green and call it good
No clue, I thought it was odd prior to these rumors but now it makes it even more odd.Didn't know that, I'm not on Instagram. Is he taking online classes?
