Ohio State and Wisconsin losing to Nebraska for one.
Big 10 teams losing to Big 10 teams says exactly zero of the overall strength of the Big 10. You can flip that same thing and say OSU and Wisconsin were great in the non con and they got beat by the last place team, showing the depth of the conference.

Sorry pet peeve of mine is using conference games to try to claim how good or bad a conference is. The only thing conference games tell you is if a conference is balanced or top heavy.

This has been the media strategy with Big 10 football for 20 years. Look poor in the non conference, then when teams play each other in conference try to claim some of the teams are really improved and playing well.

To each there own but for me watching very bad big 10 teams beat the ones they dangle as making there conference strong, and an Iowa team won the conference tourney that I still have a lot of questions on told me everything I need to know when picking big 10 teams on the tourney. Non-con would be ideal to determine but it’s so long ago it’s tough days to use at this point .

Im not even sure Iowa gets past Providence. If i had to pick a similarly seeded big east team or a big ten team, its not gonna be the big ten

I just watched a team ISU beat on the road mind u...absolutely destroy Providence couple days ago. Creighton wood shedded Providence by 30..

Providence plays absolutely zero defense. Decent scoring team mostly. But Providence plays a lot zone D and not very well. If Iowa hot from 3 Iowa will win by 15+..

Hate to say it bc I really really hate Iowa..but they got an incredible bracket...

They played a little over a week before that also, mind saying what the outcome of that one was?

Iowa won’t be hot from three.

I watch a lot of college ball. Our bracket is good . We got a good chance against both LSU (coaching) and Wisc. (style of play).
I am sure TJ and Tyrese are excited to be in Wis. It could really benefit the Wisconsin recruiting if we string a couple of good games together.

Honestly Iowa can make the final four with their bracket. Providence is the only team with a defense that would trip them up.
Well, they do have Kansas and then likely Auburn. Sweet Sixteen is easy but I wouldn't take them over Kansas with Self having several days to prepare.

I don't think ISU is an 11 seed but it actually didn't work out too bad for ISU. Avoid the 1 and 2 seeds and then get paired with ah LSU team that is beatable and just lost their coach. Although, sometimes losing a coach can have the opposite effect for the next game. But still I think if they play well they can win and then I think they have a decent shot at making the sweet sixteen. Wisconsin is good but not great and who knows Johnny Davis's situation?

Here are some Selection Sunday tidbits.

Iowa State tidbit: Iowa State is an #11 Seed for the first time. The #11 Seed is the 12th different seed for Iowa State in school history. We have been every seed from #2 through #13.

I also know that some of you liked my drilldown page that I built last year.

Here's one I like:

Consecutive seasons earning a Top 4 seed:

Kansas: 21
Purdue: 5
Gonzaga: 5
Baylor: 2
Illinois: 2
Arkansas: 2
Arizona: 1
Duke: 1
Kentucky: 1
Auburn: 1
Villanova: 1
Wisconsin: 1
Texas Tech: 1
Tennessee: 1
UCLA: 1
Providence: 1
