I haven't really had a problem with the level of enthusiasm in the women's hockey games I have watched. I would take that over the biathlon announcer who was absolutely losing his **** when during the mixed relay the USA competitor hit three in a row and it was looking like he was going to hang on to a medal position. Commentator was screaming into his microphone and had lost what little of his mind was left. USA skier immediately missed the last two shots, burned through all three extra rounds, and ended up having to take a penalty lap.

They sure have big snow making machines in China.

No wonder we can't get any snow in Iowa this winter! All the moisture is sucked out of the atmosphere by those contraptions. But it is for a good cause. Guess NBC just discovered China's top secret Climate Change whatchamacallits. I foresee the storyline for the next James or Jane Bond movie.

Now you gotta go to the twin cities. It's like basketball, the Des Moines is small potatoes compared to the twin cities. They will destroy you there and the Sconnies that show up will make fun of your drinking abilities.

I have a general disdain for sports where the result is based in some part on a judge's opinion, so that eliminates a bunch of what NBC/USA have aired so far -- figure skating, ski jumping, snowboarding, freestyle skiing, etc.

Just get to the timed and objectively scored events.
