Perhaps curling is a simple game like shuffleboard and lawn darts. But your scrub pick-up team would lose 64-0 to the Olympic team without them breaking a sweat.

Only a fool would think they can go from drinking beer on the couch in their living room to gold medaling in the Olympics - regardless of how "simple" the event may be.
Lol..I don't drink beer or sit on the couch and if you can't tell a joke when you see one you need to get off the couch more often. I wouldn't waste my time even trying to master the art of curling.. It's stupid!

Curling is pretty fun to play, but my knees are shot from basketball so hard to enjoy.

What is the main difference? It looks like the same course.

Shorter hill (downhill starts at the very top of the mountain), but more turns in super G. It’s still a speed race, but they don’t get as fast as the downhill because there are more gates to hit. Downhill guys were getting close to 90 mph. Mid 70’s in super g. The edges are steeper in SG and I feel like these guys have to react faster too.

Eileen Gu hitting the 1620 with a perfect landing in big air was one of the most badass things I've ever seen!!!

They sure have big snow making machines in China.

No wonder we can't get any snow in Iowa this winter! All the moisture is sucked out of the atmosphere by those contraptions. But it is for a good cause. Guess NBC just discovered China's top secret Climate Change whatchamacallits. I foresee the storyline for the next James or Jane Bond movie.
It's probably a bunch of ground up old mattresses and asbestos filled pipe insulation.

I thought it was interesting that they were jumping near a "nuclear facility"...but like many others...I was wrong about what those smokestacks were: https://www.9news.com/article/sport...ourse/73-a7f10cdc-6071-466b-9104-d77299a401f8
While there is a smokestack in that image (the tall skinny one) I'm pretty sure those large structures everyone associates with nuclear power plants are actually just cooling towers. They are used in other power plants and industrial facilities and let off steam.
