Greetings from a Clemson fan....

I love that this thread is a blend of **** Iowa dialog and in-depth discussion about the upcoming game. My wife and I honeymooned in South Carolina and really enjoyed talking with the locals about Clemson and college football in general. They seem like a very similar fan base to us, just without the national championships

I would say the 2 fan bases are very similar; Clemson was originally "Clemson Agricultural College", and like Iowa, SC is known for it's farming. I myself live on my family's 4th generation farm. During my several trips through Iowa it was cool to see all of the farms. I always tell my Des Moines buddy he needs to get outta there and move out in the country....:).

No one on Clemson is going to be excited for the Cheez It Bowl. I don’t think we have anything to worry about there.

Disagree with you there; A Clemson win means an 11th consecutive year with 10 plus wins (10-11-11-10-14-14-12-15-14-10-9), we have a 5 star QB and RB coming in next year. I'm not saying Clemson will win, but I'd be very, very surprised if we came out flat....

God were so lucky Clemson will allow us to be on the same field with them.

I sure hope our players don’t have the same attitude as this fan base does.

Both teams have a lot to play for; I suspect that your HC is a great motivator, just like Dabo. Before Dabo's arrival, Clemson was known under Tommy Bowden to flop often, but I don't see that in Swinney's teams......

How is Iowa State's kicking game? Clemson has a very, very average punter, almost no return game, and an above average FG guy (82%)....

I am most definitely NOT a HAWK TROLL; I just happen to know a lot about Iowa and Iowa State due to my navy buddy. Clemson played and beat Iowa in BB a few years ago but have never played either team in FB, although Clemson and Iowa had a wrestling match I think in the late 70's. Plus, my real name is Clarence, which is about as Southern as you can get..:).
Ok. Not a Hawk troll...we get a lot of them on here. My apologies Clarence. I too am hoping for a good game.

Replaced our punt returner with a frosh mid season and things improved somewhat. Neither KO or punt returns are a huge threat. Our ST coverage is not great, but solid.

Not a problem at all; where I hang out over on TNET (Clemson's best msg board) we get a lot of Chicken and LEG HUMPER trolls.....:).

I'm also very interested in stadium designs and such; I understand that Jack Trice Stadium was renovated some years ago. Are their future plans for further upgrades? Clemson is beginning one now....

When did storming the field for every win become a thing at Clemson?

I really like that or at least having the fans go down. Let the players celebrate with their community.

I attended my first Clemson game in 1972, I think vs. Maryland, so it dates to at least then and maybe before, and the fans go on the field regardless of a win or a loss. In all those years there's only been a single incident that I'm aware of when some fans tore down the goal posts (against FSU I think). Now we have remote controlled goal posts that can be lowered before the fans hit the field...
