I doubt it changes anything for ND.... sure, if they want him - but they already knew that going in. And so does Freeman. If they want him, he knows. If they don't, he already knows. ND already knows he's going to have other opportunities and offers. Like if they hire Fickel Cincinnati would probably try to bring him back.

It kinda matters but at the same point... not entirely. Both ND and Freeman already knew where they stood with each other before this broke
Exactly. The AD was not surprised when Kelly took the LSU job. He said he knew things were going on for a few weeks (my paraphrase)...i.e. LSU probably asked permission to interview.

Why? BK is looking out for himself.

I would be curious if there’s a connection to LSU since he almost took that job at last year.

True. I just was wishful thinking that BK had vibes that Freeman could be offered and wouldn't waste time because he knew Freeman would take it.
And you are right, he almost became the LSU DC before ND got him.

I just hope ND's decision goes quickly. Listening to their AD's press conference and setting up the characteristics (pillars) and seeing who fits etc. made me think this could last longer than we want.

I totally agree. The press conference was a letdown and should have just been a press release. It sounded like there’s no concrete plan and that they will take their time evaluating different options.

Was at ND for a recruiting camp in 2016.... facilities were nice, being improved but at the same time - not as nice as I would have thought ND would have had. Now again,, this was when a lot of construction and improvements were being made to facilities and the stadium so I'm sure they are probably better now FWIW

I'm starting to get pretty pissed at Campbell. Does he not know how much time I am spending refreshing CF, searching Twitter, and updating family members on the situation? I am a busy man, I don't have time for all of this. How can he be so selfish?

In all seriousness, I will be glad when this is over, either way.
I'm busy making "Traitor" signs myself. JIC

I'm late to this party but I'm here to say I think Jim Leonhard will make an excellent head coach someday. I was a big fan of his when he played at Wisconsin, dude was an animal and hit like a mule kicks... that is all.

He was on my poll!

My buddy went to ND, and I've only driven by South Bend, so I'll take his word for it when he said the town is a **** hole.

But then again, Campbell was at Toledo. He's about as conditioned to post-industrial **** holes as a guy could be.

In California for 18 years. Many of the observations made about quality of life and cost of living are spot on. The state is seeing a rapidly bifurcating population among super rich and super poor. You were lecturing people about property taxes the other day. I encourage you to Google Howard Jarvis and Proposition 13. Knowing your political leanings, you're probably not going to like the history lesson.
Is this year's avocado crop causing them to become gassy?

That description is pretty accurate for South Bend, unfortunately for them.

Regarding the merged poll. I like Manning as an OC and think he gets too much flack for the production that ISU has put together the last 5 years.

That said, HC is a different animal all together, and some of the things that feel need to be tweaked on O (clock management, decisiveness on tempo drives in red zone) point to executive decisiveness that may not work best as the CEO of the entire program.
