Welp i feel way less encouraged after this press conference. He hasn't even talked to anyone yet?

Why would you not even name an interim?

Ugh...

Sort of, but there are issues as to whether Santa Ana represented the Mexican government or had been deposed by then.
In either case, it's fun to read how Texas begged to be part of the U.S. after their persistent lies to Mexico about religion and slavery, only to find out that we didn't want them at all.
That does complicate whether they truly fought for secession but it doesn't refute my point about Texas history being awesome.

ND athletic director had interesting comments regarding these $100+ million coach contracts.

Paraphrasing here - "we need to seriously evaluate and consider how these affect college football today and if/how college football remains within a university system"

He will be conducting the search. Outside firms will only be for logistics like booking his travel under another name to keep reporters off his trail. He has not reached out to anyone yet. His inbox has a lot of interested parties and he'll start responding today.

Ideally you wouldn’t name an interim because you are going in house.

If not, he’s going with Campbell because you’d need an interim if you wanted Fickell.

LA LA Land
Obviously, I live here, and have for several years. I love it. But citing Elon musk was pretty bad

and there may be no State income tax, but my property taxes make up for that

Chicago is not a great “average” example but it’s insane how much higher some of my taxes were in Chicago vs LA. Different quirks everywhere, the more I move around the more I realize I only understand taxes in the places I’ve actually lived and paid them. I was absolutely floored in a thread here where people in Des Moines were sharing their property taxes.

Yeah you gotta love how so many are “experts” about places they’ve never been to and love educating others about their own states or cities. AKA: giant douches
In California for 18 years. Many of the observations made about quality of life and cost of living are spot on. The state is seeing a rapidly bifurcating population among super rich and super poor. You were lecturing people about property taxes the other day. I encourage you to Google Howard Jarvis and Proposition 13. Knowing your political leanings, you're probably not going to like the history lesson.

Its been 12 hours he will need to talk to some big donors etc. ND knows they still have a chance at the playoff, and if things break their way in term of game results. But it still may not matter if they don't have a headcoach for the team. Committee will penalize them for this.

Don't panic just yet. Still think it will be Freeman.

I’m pretty confident CMC is interviewing and it’s out of our hands at this point. Let’s hope Freeman wins the day or ND goes outside the box (break every bank for Pat Fitzgerald).

Of course he’ll interview. That was never a question. He will beg for the job. Our only hope is he doesn’t get it.

So I shouldn't be worried about a Mark Caldwell traveling from Ames to South Bend, right?

You’re also pretty confident that much of rural iowa is a sex trafficking ring that the police and courts are in on which explains every disappearance in the last 20 years.

I haven’t seen you provide any proof to refute my feeling. Just your feelings. So it appears we are at an impasse.
