Anywhere but Austin is a s**t hole in Texas though…. I wonder why that is? What is it about Austin that makes it the most attractive place in Texas to live?
Sorry to tighten your undies like I did. I personally like wide open space. We obviously should not hang out. Unless, at a ISU game. I think before the game activities could be really fun and tighten your shorts even more. If I ever get out there, I will PM you.

Ah. You’re a lot smarter than Jamie then? Congratulations! What about his premise is false? I think his premise is the richest pay a lot more in CA than in any other state.. don’t see how that’s inaccurate.

I think the part he misses is that 40 million people don’t seem to give a ****, and the 1% certainly don’t give a ****. If that’s his pitch, that’s not good.

Hate to break it to you but that's how almost all of these go. What exactly is there for him to say?

If you quit your job are you talking to your current employer about your interviews?

If I'm leading a group of young men who I claim to care about I'll take a little more time to say goodbye.

This isn't KnappShack quitting a cashier job at the local Wendy's.

Alright now I'm even more curious....a lot of people travel out of state for work -- meetings, consults, etc that can be from half-day to multiple days. Are they supposed to be withholding taxes from their home state/paying taxes in another as well?

Asking for a...friend

It's funny you ask because I just had a friend call me from NE Iowa this morning about this.

My answer is this - let your employer deal with it. It can be a complicated issue that involves different state tax laws, where the employer is physically located, etc.

Not worth getting worried about if you are a W2 employee.

This is similar to dumping a girlfriend. Did you dump her and then say, hey let’s go out to supper and hug it out?

it’s not even remotely true either.

Rich people from around the globe are moving here (LA) every second and it wouldn’t be the case if taxes were actually that bad. If you’re rich owning property in socal only makes you more rich.

Honestly they need policy to deter rich people from moving to CA (foreign and domestic) because it’s the primary source of the housing price and availability issues. Lincoln Riley is not going to lose cash by living in CA unless he’s a moron.

Yes, it is very true. However, if you are just living in CA and not actually earning a living there, the tax burden probably isn't that bad.

Elon Musk was pretty clear that CA was stifling his business, which is why he moved Tesla HQ to Texas and opened his new factory there, along with Toyota, HP, Oracle, Kubota, Charles Schwab, etc.

While its not exactly about just the rich moving every second California so overall I'm not sure its quite apples to apples that things are great. Everywhere has its problems, to be sure and yes, Lincoln will certainly be able to survive just fine on that salary because you'd have to be an imbecile not to - but there is a definite trend all over the country for the most part, maybe some larger cities buck the trend, but a general trend of people leaving big cities for various reasons.

In general though yes, you are correct people moving in tend to be having higher incomes.

Why is California population declining?

In other words, even if COVID-19 had not reared its ugly head, California would still have lost population due to long-term demographic trends — declining births, increasing deaths due to the aging of the population, a much-slowed rate of foreign immigration and losses in state-to-state migrations.May 12, 2021and LA has lost people for 3 years in a row.

Man an 11 minute goodbye. I've had longer goodbyes with a telemarketer

There is no good way to finesse an exit as a college football coach. Not when the job requires you to hit the ground running immediately to recruit and backslap with boosters.

He already has generational wealth.

But that wasn’t what I said. I said it was a bad hire. That means it was dumb of LSU.
Ah, reminds me of the old Randy Newman Song!

*And colleges men from LSU
Went in dumb, come out dumb too*

We’re still in the land rush phase of tragedy of the commons ongoing in TX.

A ten minute meeting after ghosting the university and leaving his assistants in limbo.

Man....screw that guy
Kelly is not my favorite coach/person, but you have no idea what contact he has had with his assistants. Also, there is nothing you can say to 100+ players that will make them feel different. Short and simple is the best method. In normal life when a person resigns, do they stand around the water cooler for 4 hours trying to make everyone feel good. NOPE!

Yeah I think LSU is going to have buyer's remorse, truthfully. I don't think BK will do well there. This was a splash hire rather than a good hire.

Agree with this. He has done well a few places but I would not put money on LSU winning the SEC under Kelly. Not until Saban retires and he and Kelly could retire about the same time
