Rumor has it ND was telling Kelly he needed to win a Natty in the next 3 years or be done. This move was not just for the money, but for a re-set of the clock.

You could tell me Texas was firing Sark and hiring Lane Kiffin and I’d say that sounds about right.

That wouldn't surprise in a normal year.

Texas is one big scramble mode.

I would be shocked if ND hired someone who's never been a head coach.

Generally agree, but I also think in today's climate there's something to be said for trying to keep some recruiting continuity if Freeman is truly a star in that regard. I think ND sees what's happening with OU's recruits after their coach blindsided them.

Also, recruiting to ND isn't as easy as it is at the other blue bloods.

True. There's that "academic standing" thing that can get in the way.
