Most Hawks can't understand that Iowa state has a larger student body.

I hate Iowa but...
They are 2-2 vs. Penn State
5-1 vs. Michigan
2-8 vs. Ohio State in the last decade which is better than most,
Would they make the Big 10 title game? Heck no. But while I wish the football program at Iowa would crash and burn and be basically Kansas West - the idea that they only beat up on the sisters of the weak in the Big 10 is not entirely accurate.

a lot of smoke on twitter and social media about USC but I still think that Campbell stays.
A lot think that when they buy Hawkeye Vodka, or do business with a company along the lines of "Hawkeye Towing", they're supporting the football team. Most Hawks don’t understand that there is a university attached to the football program
This thread is exactly why the rivalry needs to end. The hate is getting to the point of something bad happening.

Iowa fans tearing their hair out trying to reconcile “Matt Campbell sucks because he can’t beat Iowa and only went 7-5” with “Iowa State will suck again when Matt Campbell leaves”
none of those "next generation" guys have been there for 10 years yet and we're hearing rumblings that day and riley could be out (although who knows maybe it's just agent contract renegotiation tactics)
harbaugh was on the hot seat before this season (and if he loses the big 10 championship, maybe he is again lol)
it is possible to be a top coach at a blue-blood, but it's very difficult and probably less than 10% chance to have any kind of long career -- way better chance of flaming out or getting fired because you have a "horrible" 9 win season one year
whereas if you're at a program like isu/ksu/oklahoma state/iowa, you have a lot more leeway, control over the program, and job security
Iowa has only played Ohio State twice in the last decade. How do you claim 10 contests in that time?I hate Iowa but...

This is where I’m at too. I actually think Iowa State is a great job right now. Unreal fan support. Manageable expectations. On top of that there’s actually a little cache to the ISU brand at this point. Kids have seen us on TV and we’re actually kinda cool. Then add in the fact that this program is Matt’s baby. Doesn’t he want to see how far he can take this thing with recruits he was able to pull after proving he can win here? I honestly think it would be foolish to leave.
LolThe last three years they had a losing record they averaged 54,000 fans. They have NEVER sold out 3 conservative games. Is that good? Is it “unreal”?
Doesn’t he have people for that?I ran into Matt and the kids at Lowe’s today. He was buying a big new snowblower. He’s sticking around.
Or the coaches could just put more emphasis on the game at the beginning of the year. You just made the argument for keeping it alive. It just needs to be at the end of the season.
Was it an electric snowblower? Cause if so, he gone to LAI ran into Matt and the kids at Lowe’s today. He was buying a big new snowblower. He’s sticking around.
If he was moving to LA it would be a solar or wind turbine powered snowblower. Was it an electric snowblower? Cause if so, he gone to LA
