We already have a Tre Jackson and we'll have Eli King here next year.

I think it's best to pass on him to avoid the name confusion.

He shot 34% from 3 at Eastern Kentucky - he could be our top outside threat with a percentage like that.

He only attempted 56 three point shots at EKU, so he is not a volume 3 point shooter. They had 5 other players take more 3's in the 2020/21 season.

I would have no concerns with King coming to ISU. If he only has 1 year left and can play spring 2023, probably works best if he sits this spring. Makes for a great practice body this season and could step in as 4 or 5 on next year's team.

I'd take him in a heartbeat if he is eligible all next year, or ideally, this spring.

But... keep in mind... we'd have a scholarship tied up. There were a couple of big guys we couldn't take this year through the transfer portal because we were full. Foster and Hinson didn't leave in time for us to take them.

Prohm's biggest problem was first trying to be like Fred........next trying to be dad (Lard). He isn't playing like Fred and this recruiting situation isn't like Lard. Obviously TJ likes him enough for an invite......if he commits so much the better. With Hinson and Foster flying the coop they could use another talented big body down low. IMO.......it's worth the stretch because like you said...this season is a crapshoot anyway and who knows......someone like this might be the difference between 15 wins and a bubble team come conference tourney time.

Speaking of Hinson and Foster.....where are they at now?

It’s just Grambling State, but if you can make it out to to the game, let’s show Tre Cyclone Nation. If you haven’t been out to a game yet, you’ll appreciate the intensity and intelligence this team plays with.

Shameless plug it is also double header day WBB at noon, men at 5, make a day of Cyclone sports. The A.D. has some really good deals for these off peak games. If I wasn't so loyal it would be a really good yr to pick up some of these game packs.

I'm guessing some of you also read the article where King was said to be "speechless" about his Wichita State recruiting visit. Over the top impressed. Of course, he has Mizzou and us to go, I guess, so not sure what the secret will be for TJ to lure him, if he strongly wants him that is.

If he can make the 2022/23 team better, I am OK with that using a scholarship. We have 10 guys on scholarship right now and 4 of those guys are seniors (Brock, Kal, Kunc and George). I also anticipate 1 or 2 transfers among the underclassmen. So it is very likely we will have at least 3 more scholarships to hand out this spring.

IMO at least 2 of those 3 scholarships need to be on big guys, so King sounds like a great fit for 2022/23. I doubt there are many 4 year bigs still available, so JUCO's and transfers are the best option. Getting a guy on campus this spring to practice, sounds like a win.

If he's not going to be eligible until spring of '23 I'd rather get players through the portal to fill the sholarships sooner.

If he's good to go this spring or next fall, he's 100% a take if we can get him.

If anyone needs two tickets let me know. I have to make a quick run to Mexico City Sunday and my wife won't go to the game alone.

So he would be eligible to play the 2nd semester? That'd be a bit bizarre. I'm all for depth but I think you are rolling the dice a little bit on screwing up chemistry by adding someone in January.
Worked fine for McKay. I hope we do it, cause we need a quality forward badly. He could make a huge difference come conference time.
