For whatever it's worth, SDSU beat Upper Iowa by 4.
did I miss the pirate after your post, because you can't seriously be saying we should bring back LE. That is all kinds of stupid.
So. you will NOT be attending any more games? Really? You willing to state that with absolute certainty? I don't believe it. You had a semblance of reason in your rant. Seem pretty intelligent to throw the 'I won't go to any more games' comments. You seem like you are a true fan...but frustrated. So I'm gonna give you your out. Recant that part...b/c if, for some reason, we get this turned around...i'm sure you wouldn't want to be sitting home with pride holding you back from going to watch the school you love so much...so much that you write with so much passion on Cyclonefantatic.com. Please tell me you are better than that. I didn't like Morgan and wanted him gone before it happened...and i still went to games. Here's your chance. Recant my brother!
This is a tough time to be a cyclone fan. We need to stick with it because there is a light at the end of the tunnel, i believe it! I'll throw a little Harvey Dent from Batman in here. "The Day is the darkest just before the dawn, and believe me, the dawn is coming" I will live and die a cyclone and i hope the rest of you will as well
Haha, a full recant I will not.
Very well done. JP in my book is a solid guy, but as he said in his speech, "we have to deliver". At some point you would think the state of our two revenue-driving sports would have to reflect badly on him if they don't turnaround. However, lest we forget that part of hiring a coach is supporting him the best we can until there is reason to believe the partnership is beyond repair. Ok, now I'm getting off topic from my initial response to you....anyways, I hope McD can stem the negative tide and turn it around, but until then I'm kind of like you. I'm going to have a hard time going out of my way to attend games, because for me its been less "entertainment", and more like an ulcer to watch this.Haha, a full recant I will not. I good deal of this could be frustration, you are right. Lets just put it this way, if I were to get tickets as a present Thursday night I would probably attend that game. But if I was at home bored on a game night, I would more than likely think of the 45 minute drive to Ames, how many cases of Natty Lite 60 bucks could buy me (the approximate cost of a ticket for my fiance and I), how painful it was to watch the SDSU game, and finally how empowering it is to have a remote which allows me the privlidge of turning off that crap as I please. I will not go out of my way to attend, but if I were to get the tickets for free I would probably go.
Now on to another rant:
All this fire Jamie Pollard stuff is kind of uncalled for in my book. If my recollection is correct, not many people here were against the McD hire initiatially. Hindsight is 20/20 my friends. Also, lets look at the other candidates:
Jeff Lebo bombed at Auburn.
The guy from Wyomming got fired I believe.
Rob Jeter is still at UW-Mil as far as I know, and we beat them so they SUCK.
UNLV has fallen off the map a bit.
Please give JP a break. Of all the names out there he got what seemed to be a good fit, what has proved not to be a good fit, and hopefully will realize this mistake sooner than later, and move quickly on getting us a coach that can win.
Ah, just do it. Its cathartic! Recant i say! Not to your frustration, but to the 'i'll never'!!! Actually, you did w/your last post. But i hear you on how you feel.
Actually, i like McD and think he's gonna be a great long-term fit. but we gotta have faith. Which is REALLY FREAKIN HARD when you lose to SDSU. I mean really. I have a longer fuse to burn....understand what the Nation is saying...but i have more faith to give > 3 years. We've become such a 'what can you do for me in 2 years or less' culture. anyway - my mini-rant.
We'll get there dude.

In order to help me in my full redaction of my previous statement, and since you appear to see something in McD I dont see, can you enlighten me on what strategy you see? This team seems to have no direction, and McD has no visible strategy in his gameplans and recruiting. It was said best by my friend who was watching this game with me, "There is nothing we are good at." Some teams are good at shooting threes, some teams like to play through the post, some teams try to control the boards and play defense, some teams recruit athletes and rely on their superior athletic ability. What the **** is it that we do? We don't defend well, dont rebound well, don't shoot exceptionally well, Craig is off and on in the post, we don't get out in transition, we don't press, we don't run great set plays, we can't penetrate well. What is it McD is focusing on, what is it he sees in this team and how is he steering our gameplan towards the strengths of his players? I just dont see it.
Not really a hypcrite. When you wanted to give up on the season and all the doom and gloom it was after the UC-davis game, which we won (barely). I had hoped as the season progressed we'd find our form and our offense. But we haven't and Coach Mac can't run a good offense, and we don't have the strong posts to rebound and play defense, and run our offense around. Hence why i've changed my mind about Coach Mac. That isn't behing hyprocritcal at all, rather gaining more insight on how our team really is.
I thought we were just a young team and to give Mcdermott time? I thought you also said in the past ISU as always struggled and that Mcdermott is getting this program turned around. Also I didn't GIVE up after the UC Davis game, I just said it would be a long season and that McDermott doesnt belong to coach in the Big 12. You got pissed at me for making that comment and said that this is 3rd year, you said that with players transfering and are best player Wes Johnson leaving that I cant just expect McDermott to turn everything around. After asking what you predict where we finish this year you said a little below .500 but next year we will improve. So yes I do think your a hypocrite, you knew we werent going to be good and you knew of are struggles, but now you decided to give up on Mcdermott. I thought you were a loyal guy? You can't at the beginning of the season saying McDermott is the man for ISU and then not even mid season call for his job. That in my book is a hypocrite.
Ask the other 30,000 fans why they decided to leave the football games early. Basketball game was at 12:00 in the afternoon, just woke up at 11:00, hungry as hell so I left to get something to eat, wanted to come back but will not allow you to reenter. To say you want McDermott gone is giving up on him. To say he can't run an offense is giving up on him. Now your going back and saying he DESERVES this year and nexts after just saying after having some insight the guy cant coach.. cmon now
You sound as loyal as a Hawkeye, I heard they need some fans.
