enough with the JP has to go crap...he made one bad mistake we think in hiring GMac, Gmac will be gone soon if things dont change. I'm still in full support of JP though.

I appreciate your loyalty, but unfortunately JP burned my only 'free pass'. Perhaps I'd be more lenient if he didn't pull the trigger so soon on Dan Mac and Morgan and instead given them a 1-year conditional probation. After all, we were only 1-year away from a Bowl game and the Big Dance with both coaches. Now, our two big money makers are probably going in the red next year.

If we finish last in the MBB B12 this year, I do not want JP with the responsibility of hiring another coach.

JVB, Hamilton, Eik, Boozer all reaches at the Big 12 level.

BP and SH should never have been anything more than practice players. It says a lot about the recruiting and attrition in the program that those two are starting/seeing significant time.

I laugh at those who are calling out DG and CB. I seriously have to wonder if those guys are asking themselves why they ever decided to come to ISU and be surrounded with ZERO talent.

Pitiful coaching, pitiful effort, pitiful home court.

DG shouldn't be calling anyone out. He was horrible tonight. That's some of the worst point guard play I've ever seen. He can't hit an open 5 footer.

Oh yeah, another "running it into the tank" post. WTF ever!! People that post this crap need to come up with a reason why. Morgan won an NCAA tourney game, and got to the final 4 of the NIT.

Quit with the Morgan crap. He's gone--come up with something more in support of Mac instead of bashing Morgan. Hard to do, isn't it?

He's building a program slowly. Really? I don't think Mac will live to be 100, so he'd better start building faster.

Why don't you read the post I was responding too, who brought up Morgan to begin with, and I responded to it.

Why don't all these Fire Mac supporters come up with one reason how it would benefit the program to fire Mac now? He has young players and good recruits coming in and you want him to leave now to possibly lose all of that? Firing Mac now or at the end of the season is the biggest crap and stupidest thing I read on this forum. Deciding to Fire Mac before we are halfway through the season is laughable. We are a bottom rung Big 12 team and have been for the past 4 years, and we want to fire a coach before he even gets to perform with the players he wants on his team. If we don't perform in the Big 12 at all, then I think it's a valid argument, but now it's stupid. Call it the hot seat if you want, but the rampant Fire Mac crap is stupid and only looks bad on our fanbase.

I haven't seen this bad of basketball since I started taking notice Barry Stevens frosh year. Mainly on the coaching end.

The coaching hasn't been this bad since Ken Trickey.

Our current coach recruits and coaches like he is still in the Valley.

Did he ever win a conference title at UNI? Someone please advise.

...And that's not even pointing out the obvious, that he was our second leading scorer tonight...

nobodies pinning anything on lucca
DG- cant handle the ball
CB- Plays like my 8 year old nephew
EIk- where are you going with the ball

GMAC- get in someones face if you cant get a spark out of them set them out for a half. Larry would of yanked tinsley or fizer out in a heartbeat in the tourney no questions asked

Mac took over a program that was diving into a disaster. He was handed the reigns to a program that was quickly falling apart. He's slowly building the program back up to what it needs to be, to be continually successful instead of having a flashy year every once in a while. If you want Morgan, go watch him installing Satelites. Mac is 20 times a better coach than Morgan.

Next year is his last if they don't perform, but we'd only be shooting ourselves in the foot if we fired him after this year. It would probably take a decade before we'd recover.

And freakin relax, it was an embarrassing loss but the season isn't halfway over yet.

couple points--

1) Jamie Pollard knew that there were going to be player defections and yet he still made the move.

2)you say "He's slowly building the program back up to what it needs to be" prove it.
- I don't see any improvment at all, AT ALL. Name me some games that ISU won and areas where we are better at this year than last year, or the previous year.

Greg and Diante are not as bad as they appear. They are being forced to play in a "system" that doesn't maximize their talent. We're playing lowest-common-denominator offense because we have zippo athleticism.

JP has shown that he's a good with administrative issues, public relations, fund raising, etc. The thing he hasn't shown yet is whether he knows how to hire coaches.

This is flat-out stupid. Chiznutless and GMac WERE 2 OF THE HOTTEST NATIONAL COACHING PROSPECTS AT THE TIME....AND JP NABBED THEM....DO YOUR DAMN HOMEWORK!!!!!

we have some problems for sure... but don't give up on GMAC... try to stay positive.

I was at a Drake game when we lost 48-44... that was an ugly game, but we went on to have a pretty good year...

Thanks, but I disagree with the Morgan part. I was glad to see him go to be honest. Yes he was successful, but besides the fact the players ran the team i.e. stinson. I really lost respect for the guy among other things. I thought things were going to go down the hill if we kept him. Although i disapproved with the hiring of Gmac i wanted to support him, but i can't really support the guy anymore. I really want Jp to have one more chance to see who he can bring in as a new bball coach if we get to that point. I can see where your coming from though.

There is no IF about it this year, after what I have seen, we are going to finish last.

Exactly. The only thing Mac has going for him at this point are verbals from some potentially good future recruits. Results are painfully obvious and no one can argue against that.

I still love JP. Nights like tonight are really making me question it. I am not going to hang GC on JP. GM is a different story however. I still want to know why he was considered this hugely hot prospect? Fine, 3 NCAA Tournament appearances at UNI. His style and recruiting have not ramped up to suit the conference he is playing in.

It pains me to say this.......but the house that Johnny built.....that coaches like Larry Brown, Billy Tubbs and Norm Stewart feared....that players like Danny Manning, Waymon Tisdale, Byron Houston and Derrick Chevious hated.......where you couldn't hear yourself think when the late Brian Pearson hit a three against top rate OU......where we use to yell "sit down Tubbs" on national television....where the roof almost blew off when Fizer dunked against UT.....where the floor shook when the OSU guard tried in vane to make two game winning free throws..........................

is gone!

I might add that as the season progresses we don't see improvement in McDermott coached teams. If this game was the first game of the season it would have been excusable but its not.

I'm convinced that McDermott is the wrong guy for the job. That being the case, we only dig a bigger hole the longer we stay with him.
