I think he’d probably catch a plane to L.A. tonight but more than likely he’s just done as a coach anywhere.

Not necessarily the same style of coaches, but I think stuff like this is why Campbell would struggle in the pros too. All of the things that make college head coaches successful college head coaches go against all of the things that make successful NFL coaches successful NFL coaches.

I actually think he'd do well in the NFL because he's player centered and believes in a player led culture. That would be essential to being successful in the NFL. However, with that being said, I think he would hate it because ownership would be forcing him to fit square pegs into round holes. Fortunately, he really likes shaping young men for success off the field as on so we won't have to worry about it.

Urban will be in LA next year.
It does make sense, he's greasy enough to do that job. College guys just do not cut it in the nfl level it's a different deal. Matt Rhule is actually making a good go of it but he is the exception.

Pete Carroll, Jim Harbaugh, Jimmy Johnson.... there have been others. Some can make it. It's the control freak bullies like Saban and Meyer that don't know how to treat players and even coaches like professionals that don't make it.

The college coaches who end up sticking in the NFL usually had at least some NFL experience before they became NFL head coaches, either as assistants or coordinators or as a player (e.g., Harbaugh playing quarterback for the Colts). The guys coming in cold tend to flame out.

The Jags seemed better last night. I know people like the rag on Meyer, and I get it cuz he seems like a dbag, but it’s not like he came into a winning organization. Culture change takes time. The only question is whether or not he stays. They have some nice pieces and will be a high draft pick to get more.
