Dude is in over his head, kinda like like spurrier was.
He's probably on fired Clay Helton tarmac watch just hoping its sooner than later.
It'll be interesting to see how it goes.
I remember hearing a clip from Pat McAfee's show basically saying that some of these coaches need to remember/realize that they are dealing with grown men who don't owe you anything. It's the difference between amateurs and professionals. The coach isn't necessarily always the king in the NFL.

What you're saying here was also echoed heavily during the Chris Doyle hire there too. Legit former NFL players on Fox said they'd fight him in the locker room.
Sounds like it's not just the players but his coaches as well. He must have have bullied everyone at his college programs. Just like Saban, it's clear that the control freak personality that works so well at the college level just doesn't fly in the NFL.

Jacksonville would be an uphill battle even for the best NFL coaches. It's not the kind of place you want to cut your pro coaching teeth. As recently as a week ago, there were pundits (Cowherd, I believe) talking about the Jags as a sleeper wildcard team.
Now it's only one game so there's still plenty of time to turn things around, but even the most dyed in the wool Jags fan has to admit that things are off to an inauspicious start.
Urban Meyer has had a fantastic coaching career, and success has followed him wherever he's gone. But hubris has also followed. You can make an argument that it's one of his defining characteristics. So, I won't be shedding many tears if he flames out magnificently.

It's the difference between being a leader and being a boss. The NFL requires leaders (think Ted Lasso) who can get highly compensated players to perform at their peak levels.
College needs leaders like Matt Campbell to shape young men. But ultimately in some programs (Alabama, OU, tOSU, etc) it's simply "next man up". 5* culture vs 5* players
Anybody who gives Carlos Hyde more work than James Robinson is a complete idiot and not capable of handling a football team.
Not necessarily the same style of coaches, but I think stuff like this is why Campbell would struggle in the pros too. All of the things that make college head coaches successful college head coaches go against all of the things that make successful NFL coaches successful NFL coaches.
College coaches generally do poorly in the NFL. Meyer is the second best college coach ever, I don’t think this is really a knock on him.
I'd agree with that. A college head coach is more often a leader while an NFL head coach is more of a manager. You have to do both in either position, but they are drastically different roles.
It's kind of like when you move up in the ranks of the business world and learn that you have to have different styles for different employees. Being in charge of a group of 10 new hires is a lot different than being in charge of a group of 10 people with 10+ yrs experience under their belt. Both need leadership and managing, but in vastly different ratios.
