I wonder if they teach roundabouts in drivers ed these days. They didn't when I grew up but we didn't use roundabouts back then.

Will ask they kid. But unsure if any are close. Also, out instructor teaches some wrong stuff anyhow.
In 5th (maybe 6th) grade Mr. Froliger told us to always carry an unopened bottle of liquor in the car. That way if you got stopped for drunk driving you could open it and take a big swig before rolling down the window. That way they couldn't prove you had been drinking before they stopped you.
But he wasn't a driver's ed teacher as far as I remember.
Death toll for today is up to 16. Haven't seen a fly in practically an hour. The portal must be down for maintenance.
That's probably the bigger issue. I'm pretty sure I learned about them (20 yrs ago) but the only ones that were around were used as traffic calming devices in some neighborhoods, not on a regular street. Huge difference in them. Then when you get into multi lane roundabouts, that's when it gets really exciting.
Or their memory.
Twice in my hometown the past few months I've ordered Taco pizza and received basically a sausage pizza. They literally forgot the chips, lettuce, and tomatoes.
Never again.
There's a lot of statistics that they greatly help.
Crashes,fatal/severe crashes, maintenance, gas mileage, etc.
This is assuming of course drivers read signs and don't try to Dukes of Hazard over them.
I once ordered a large and used a free medium coupon. Large was messed up so they were going to make another and give me the bad one for free. So for four people it would be 2 larges and a medium. I said I already had too much so I got the large for free.
Doesnt help mileage if you go around them a couple times though.
These are both within a handful of miles from JC and I.
More than one lane in spots. Not two full circles as you can't just drive around the north one again if you miss your exit. If that happens you have to drive down around the south one and back up again. A little confusing the first time through but really not bad.

Two more conventional ones in proximity. They are single lane but there is a drive over curb on the inside with another lane width of pavement inside that so larger vehicles have little to no problem negotiating them.

The most important thing to remember is just like you should wait for people to get off an elevator before you get on, a roundabout gives the right of way to vehicles already in it. Those entering should yield to vehicles in the circle. Whenever I am exiting and there is traffic waiting to enter I signal my exit so they can use the gap to enter. Not many people do that but they should.

Yeah, I was looking at that intently to see how it was different because growing up out in the country that is exactly what we used and called "fly paper".
I know this is a joke but an incredible amount of fuel is wasted every day on idling vehicles at stop lights and people inching forward waiting to take their turn at four-way (and all-way) stop signs. In fact right turn on red was mandated by the federal government during the oil crisis as an energy saving measure. Before that it was up to each state/jurisdiction to allow right turn on red and most didn't.Doesnt help mileage if you go around them a couple times though.

I signal in esp. if I'm using it to turn left so I'm at least seen. Typically not legally needed but it does no harm since I'm communicating.
Driving the wrong way through them doesn't help either. I've seen some close calls with that scenario.
Already killed 11 more flies this morning. You would think for as many flies I have killed since Monday, which has to be well over 100, there would have been this massive swarm of flies flying about the house but there hasn't been. That's why I'm sticking with my alternate dimension theory.

There are idiots everywhere on the roads, not just in roundabouts. Hell turning the wrong way on a one way street happens as well and those have been around since the early 1600s in the world and in the 1930's or 40's - depending on who you believe - in the U.S. People die every year from people going Planes, Trains and Automobiles* and killing someone. Minnesota Timberwolves player Malik Sealy was killed by a guy going the wrong way on highway 100 here in the Twin Cities.

Our newest vehicle's engine turns off when we stop and idle. It's a little odd but doesn't really effect my driving except we complain about the air conditioner not working for a few seconds.
If you drive a lot in town I would think it would put a tremendous amount of stress on the starter motor and the battery
