Was a solid movie all around…. One of the better ones. Also, I think the cliff hanger post credit scene got me going big time.

Florence Pugh is the reason I liked it so much. Perfectly cast.
Super underrated part of Marvel. The costumes are at least cool. Some are fantastic. DC and specifically Fox's X-Men series are VERY hit and miss in costuming.
My future ex-wife.

Yup, she steals the show.
I liked it, but it’s not a top tier MCU movie. I think Winter Soldier is the correct comparison. My biggest complaint is that it doesn’t really advance the timeline. It takes us back to 2016 and even before the post credit scene in Civil War. And BW’s post credit scene is the only thing that sets up the next movie/show, which is disappointing
Its plot though isn't necessarily what really makes this film good anyway, but rather its characters and their interplay with one another. The film really leans into its characters in a make or break way, and I'll gladly say they made it. Props to them, and that goes for pretty much everyone, whether that be Natasha, The Red Guardian, Yelena, or Molina. There is some good twists in there too.
Overall, this movie is out of place. It's not bad, and it's actually really enjoyable for long stretches. But it's so self-contained that it really needed to be released years ago to really fit. The best possible purpose it could serve here is as a eulogy for Natasha, and they trampled over nearly every emotional beat with humor (the post-credit scene actually pissed me off in that regard). Some of that humor hit for me, but a big chunk of it should have been left on the editing room floor to let those emotional moments breathe.
Over a decade to finally get a solo film for the main female hero in the MCU, and it really only served to set up her replacement. That's really disappointing, IMO. Natasha's character deserved better than what it received over the last 10 years, and this film didn't break the trend.

Saw it last night. Not quite sure what to think of it yet to be honest. I thought the characters played VERY well off of each other, and it was a fun movie, but I couldn’t help thinking something was missing. Can’t put my finger on it though.
I was pleasantly surprised by Black Widow. While it certainly had flaws I think it was one of the better origin stories, although it really wasn't an origin story. I think this is the best of the Phase 4 installments (Disney+ series included) and I'm excited to see some of those characters again in the future. It felt more like a Jason Bourne movie than an MCU-installment, which I really enjoyed. This is the type of movie that will have a lot of replay-value on those lazy-Sunday afternoons.
From a consumer perspective I dropped the $30 for Premier Access on Disney+ and don't have any regrets. My wife and I watched it on Saturday night. I was able to watch with subtitles (which we have to have on for most shows/movies) and we were able to pause it so I could put my 8mo old to sleep in the middle of our first viewing. I started re-watching it again yesterday. There's no doubt that I would have enjoyed seeing this in theaters, but watching these movies in a timely manner is critical to avoid spoilers. I know some aren't fans of hybrid theatrical/VOD releases, but Premier Access allowed my wife and I to watch from the comfort of our home, which saved $ on hiring a sitter and paying concession prices at a movie theater, and we can re-watch the movie for a few more months. I hope Disney continues to offer Premier Access for their films moving forward.

I also watch everything with subtitles. It is the way to go for not missing anything.
