So we have been paying him to look for his auburn staff the past two weeks and talking to mischamp to see wht he would do. No wonder we had no announcements. he was the man with an "I" State Plan.
the interviews will be conducted first by a search firm. that way coaches under contract don't have to ask their AD for permission to speak with another school until its serious and so iowa state will never have to make the search public because the search was not done by a public institution, but rather, a private company. the search firm is very secretive. you will never find out. if and when someone is contacted and formally interviewed, you will either find out through the coaches school or then by flight tracker.
Very good chance that the search firm will be Parker Executive Search out of Atlanta. They are one of leaders, if not the leader, in the field. Iowa State currently has a non-athletic staff position listed with them. Parker was also used to hire both Pollard and Chizik in addition to Licklitetr at Iowa and Pelini at UNL. The flight tracker guys should be looking at flights to and from Atlanta. :wink:
I really don't think we have time for a search firm. JP really needs to find a guy this week and with a search firm I don't think that would be possible. I could be wrong but that sounds like a long drawn out process.
Actually, I think that it is the exact opposite. Search firms can expedite the process. SDSU moved fairly quickly.

on second thought... there are a couple flights to and from lester b. pearson intl airport in toronto that are either going to or from some municipal airports in Altanta.... buffalo is only what about 2 hrs from downtown Toronto. COULD IT BE GILL! :yes:

It does actually speed the process up...it's almost like having a predetermined search committee, who tries to quickly narrow down a list for the school based on it's needs.
also one from buffalo niagra intl that arrived at hatfield-jackson in Atlanta ohhh about 45 minutes... damn. im getting good at this!
